so yeah..i have that 99 buick regal.
ive had it for 4 months, and now has rod knock.
just like the grand prix :)


but i just wanted to know the most reccomended
shop around here that i could take it to to get
a new engine dropped in.

ray lathem wanted 3200 parts and labor
that was a used engine 55,000 miles

I can easily squash that price. PM the details on the car. I can also tow it into my shop. Is it Supercharged or Naturally aspriated ?
 
Used Engine Pricing with 60k engine.

6month parts only $1170
1yr 12K mile parts and labor $1440
2yr 24K mile parts and labor $1525

Price changes with Warranty coverage

Labor $1100 Include time to refresh the lower intake gaskets.
Misc $350 " depends on a few things" Coolant,oil,hoses ,wires Have to see the condition of the Parts on the car to figure out the install parts needs.

One thing I will do is change the intake Gaskets and Inspect the Upper Intake Manifold. The Upper intake would not be included in those prices. Most of the time if the engine is low mileage it is not a concern.

Worst case scenario is $3000 with a 2yr warranty on parts and labor. If the upper intake Is defective I can usually get them to send me a new one. This happens occasionally. I always inspect it however.

How much do you charge for trans rebuilds or for another one to get dropped in and wheres your shop?
 
We are in waterford. I offer reasonable towing rates" For people outside of the 15 mile radious for free towing". Yes we offer a plethora of transmission rebuilding,replacement options. Depends on the vehicle and how old it is. I can do a in house rebuilds,jasper, or USed. Used is sometimes the cheapest depending on avialability.
