Heating guys - for Garage needed (Almont)

My dad has completely redone his 30x40 attached garage.

Has a nice Suspended gas Sterling QV2 heater installed.
(Reznor / Modine style)
Heater is totally hooked up, gas, electric, T-stat etc... and runs great.

Only thing he needs is a hole popped in the roof, and chimney kit installed.

I want to get this for him installed for Christmas present.
Anyone know who would be interested in doing this small job?

Thanks

I don’t have a recommendation for a contractor but why not go through the wall instead of the roof? When I put my Modine in my garage I just put the exhaust out the wall.

Not a bad idea going out the side. Some citys/townships look at satellite photos closely and will catch it.... look to see if you pulled permits for the install.

I had an insurance guy look at the googlemaps on my house once too. He was asking me about my garage and what I told him didn't match the outdated pic. If you have a pool, they will look for diving boards the same way.

Due to no Gable and all the roof area being a Hip Roof going out the side wont work. Need to go up unfortunately. (would have been a good option)

I use Arrow heating and Cooling on the East Side. They have done both my pre and post flood furnaces with no issues (except flooding).

I hired a contractor to replace the roof on my house (No permit required in my city for roof replacement at the time)
I went from vent cans to a ridge vent. I had the contractor install vent caps on my kitchen vent & bathroom exhaust vs just stapling the flex hose near the ridge vent.
City sent me a registered letter saying I installed new gas vents without a permit.... I fought it, argued with them ... got sent a court date if I did not pull a permit within 90 days.
I waited 89 days & pulled a permit.
Guy that came out to inspect was apologetic but said he was just doing his job. I showed him the work in the attic. He shook his head & said I did not need to pull a permit for that.... I asked for a refund for the permit I pulled and never got one.
I was told the inspectors office had large blown up posters on the walls in his office of my house & yard. This was just 1 of 10 ridiculous story's with the city I had over the years. They fucked with me for years.

Side exhaust gets my vote.

It is pretty ridiculous that a city harasses it's citizens like that. I had that happen when I lived in Pontiac. Sal cleared my driveway and prepped it for pour, but it rained so he left the pour for about a week. Some crazy lady from the city was pounding on my door telling me I better not pour and she would fine me if I did. Literally people would just drive around looking for stuff. I asked her what the fine was, and she looked at me like the the thought of just paying the fine was sacrilege or something. I used the pause in her spiel to tell her to not cut across my grass on the way out. Still got the permit though.

It reminds me of the police chief in Grosse Pointe Woods saying if he had a second full time meter maid, he could break even on the cost of managing the parking meters. Why would you double down on harassing your citizens? And why would you justify a budget for a department that harassed citizens and also lost money? Just government out of control.

I have a side exhaust on my Modine in my hipped roof garage. You just need to extend the exhaust out a bit from the exterior wall so as to clear the roof by the stated clearances. Mine exits on the back lot line side of the garage, so I really didn't care what it looked like.

I didn't want to go up since it meant f'ing with the roof/shingling, possible future leaks, etc.

My friends have all done the same. Out the back wall and up above the roof however much they needed.
