Heater wiring question.

I have my heatron bottle heater hooked up with a relay and fused 12v. The deal is that the source 12v wire is getting very hot right before the fuse holder and at the fuse holder itself. My thought is that the fuse being at the relay when it needs to be closer to the battery... Any thoughts?

are you using on of those small 7.5 amp inline fuse holders?

I'm using a blade style inline and 12ga wire. I just swapped it out for a diff cylintrical fuse holder and seems to be good now

some of the holders arent rated for much. You could also have a bad connection

Connections were iffy I re did all connections and replaced the fuse holder and it operates beautifully now.
