Header powder coating

I am wondering if anyone has any feedback on getting steel headers coated. I see there is a sponsor or two that do it. I guess my question is does it make sense to do on a set of headers I could probably just replace with stainless for cheap? What's the cost to do a set of shorty headers? Thanks.

I looked into having my long tubes ceramic coated when i was doing my swap and it was between $200 and $250 for the set. Ceramic coating is probably a better bet for hot stuff than powder coating.

That's good to know. Is ceramic coating typically done by powder coating companies? If the $250 estimate is accurate should I just order a set of stainless headers? It's just a 302 in a Foxbody, but obviously I would like to keep the heat down.

If yours are not banged up too bad i'd probably go with coating the set you have. I just did some searching and this guy dyno tested with ceramic coated and normal and made an extra 10 hp with the coated with the surface temp of the headers being 200° cooler.
