header bolt question?

i have stripped out header bolt on my head, what size is the thread? i want helicoil the thead. it is a 351w with afr heads, i think its just a stock bolt size, the head on the bolt is 3/8. thanks
 
The AFR heads are great but they should have invested a couple extra bucks and put helicoils in the threads at the manufacturing site. Now with that being said, if you would like some advice that will save you a ton of headache in the future, buy a set to header studs and be done with it (After you helicoil the stripped one of course). As noted above it is a course 3/8" thread.
 
i might do that,it sounds easier then fumbling with those bolts and gaskets all the time, thanks for the tip...
