Having to pay dealership to turn in a lease?

I just turned in my 2014 Ram leased through Ally and didn't have a turn in fee. I just released a 2016 Ram through Chrysler Capital and they DO have a turn in fee, unless you lease another vehicle at the time of your turn in.

I think mine's with Chrysler Capital, oh well. What can ya do, just won't make the mistake of leasing another.

It depends and sometimes they don't make you pay it. Call the leasing company and see if they'll do it for free if you take it to the lease turn in place instead of dumping it at a dealership. I didn't have to pay it on my last US Bank lease (it was in the agreement) but they did charge me $35 for a new owner's manual.

GM Financial doesn't have the turn-in fee.

Didn't read the whole thread, but just about everybody does this now. The only way to avoid the fee is leasing another vehicle within the same larger family (i.e. Going from Chevy to Cadillac is fine) or buying your lease outright. Otherwise, if you're turning it in and leaving for another company they all charge you anywhere from $300 - $500 from what I've seen.
