Gun guys?

So I've got a question for those who are particularly into AR based rifles. I bought a colt 6720R "talo" back in 2011. Apparently they only made 1500 of them. It's basically just a standard colt AR with a Troy quad rail, magpul grip, Rogers super stock and MBUS along with a pencil barrel from the factory. I can't really find any info online as to whether they have increased in value, depreciated or stayed the same. Any insight?

Talo is a distributor that does "custom" runs of different firearms all the time. They ask the manufacturer, Colt in this case, to make a few tweaks for their order and let them call them a special edition. Generally the differences are minor or cosmetic. Usually Talo stuff goes for a small premium over a standard gun of the same type, how much depends on the specific changes on that model.

With the AR, it ends up being just some "standard" type aftermarket upgrades, so I doubt it would pull any kind of premium over a similarly configured Colt. Also, the AR market has softened pretty bad over the last year, which has hurt used gun prices quite a bit.
With the cheap crowd, you can get a functional AR for as little as $400 now (from PSA, but I wouldn't recommend anyone get one) and even the bigger volume decent AR makers like Colt, S&W, etc having prices below $1k makes it really tough to get a good price when selling a used AR these days.

My advice would be to keep the Talo Colt, you won't get a decent value out of it in a sale.

He nailed it.

I haven't shopped AR's in a while, did the other day and I was amazed at prices.

I thought so. I was more so curious in terms of replacement cost/insurance purposes.
