Finished this pistol today, and yes it's a pistol. With a CPL it's perfectly legal to keep this in the car loaded and ready to rock. ( Not that I will )

Rock River Arms complete LAR-15 10.5" pistol
Rock River Arms Stage 2 trigger
Magpul flip up front and rear sight in OD green
Magpul Xm rail covers in OD green
Magpul P Mag in OD green
EOcopy that I'm not sure I'm going to keep on there

And a custom stitched buffer tube cover that was made to small so it ripped while I was putting it on today. :punchball I'm going to have it remade.

The other new scary black pistol is a Glock 17 w/ a storm lake match barrel in OD green to match the AR pistol, though they don't really match all that well...

Looks good! What are the legalities if any of having the AR pistol when you have other AR's that you could just swap the uppers on and make a SBR? Is it a 'just don't do it' type of thing or what?

don't do it, and, as long as you have 1 legal pistol registered lower, you are good to go to have multiple short uppers, pretty much, as long as you are able to assemble legal guns, you are fine(if the only way to assemble a gun is to into a illegal config(IE, you have a short upper, but no pistol or RM/G lower), you are screwed if investigated)

Exactly. I wouldnt even put a pistol upper on a rifle lower to even see how it looks. Way too much at risk messing around like that. Knowing my luck something would happen and I'd end up in jail.

For sure.. Better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for the info, guys. Might have to get me one one of these days..

Eh, I can't get over the buffer...

It looks cool as hell when I hold my thumb up to the screen and cover it.

I don't get the point of it though.

To each their own.

Maybe it's because after being in the military all that stuff isn't cool anymore.

Oh, an what's scary about it?

Looks like a nice setup! What differentiates a pistol lower from a std. lower?

Nothing mechanically. Only what Matt said. Once a lower is made into a rifle, it can never be a pistol.

Well the buffer tube is needed for function. You can buy piston pistols, so they don't have the buffer tube, but then you're limited on parts and at the mercy of the manufcatuer to get spare parts if something breaks. With this, all of it's parts are interchangeable with any of my AR-15's.

Oh and I don't know why libs think they're scary, ask them.

This is one of my favorite AR15 pistols. Except for the drum magazine.
