Gun Crew- Kel Tec p11

I agree, cause I bought this gun...and as far as accuracy?...well ask the CPL instructors in Monroe on how accurate the gun is...lol...they told me to save my ammo cause I obviously know what I'm doing...this was only the second time firing this gun....and if you want something to conceal...why would you want a 14+ round clip?...you only need one shot...the other shots are useless cause would you really know where those bullets are going? maybe a innocent person looking at you two playing shoot-em-up?....lol

Im glad its working out for ya jacko!! I had no problems with the gun and was easy to carry. Plenty of rounds in there to protect yourself.

Have you ever heard the statistics on hit ratios for police officers in shootout situations? They're not all that good. Think you could do better? How much do you train in high pressure situations?

Are you saying one gun is gonna shoot better then another in a "pressure situation"? If i remember correctly that keltec is 10rds +1 in the champer. What do you guy saying "get this gun with a higher carry mag" say to those guys carrying those smaller pistols with only a handful or rounds?

im curious..

Man you got that right. He must train with some one shooting back at him with live ammo.

My instructor shot IDPA and was a NRA certified. The first time he had to use his weapon as a police officer, he put 34 rounds at the subject and hit the subject only once. It's impossible to know how well you will do until you have to, God forbid.

i dont think jackos post was him trying to say hes gods gift at the shooting range. I think all he was stating the keltec..if using proper technique/aim ect..is as accurate as any other gun. we all know a gun is as good as it feels in your hand.

He clearly said all you need is one shot, and that you don't need a 14 round "clip". ( a clip is something your GF wears to keep her hair out of her face)

Nothing to do with the keltec accuracy wise in my last statement. If he is proficent with it, great. I'm glad to hear that. I've owned one and know they are capable. But to say you only need one round is ignorant at best.

Read the highlighted words above. Carry what you feel comfortable with and can shoot well. Train with it. Train a lot.

BTW, my current carry gun holds 6 rounds in the mag plus one in the chamber. I'm not one of the people advocating carrying a G19 with a 33 round mag.

he didnt say one round...he said one shot. In which technically hes correct. Wether or not you shot 13 shots, 14, shots 15 shots ect.. that ONE bullet that hits..is what COULD make the difference. I think you read alittle to much into it.

gotcha gotcha. I agree. The statement of "knowing what hes doing" was said to him by the instructor.. lol.. which id have to disagree with the instructor telling him that. No matter how good ya are...keep fireing and training..as you stated.

Owned one, and hated it. Not because of it's accuracy (or lack of I should say), low mag capacity, poor erogonomics, or shitty finish. It's because of it's AWFUL trigger. Have you shot one? Have you felt how God awful it's heavy ass DA trigger is? Granted it's easy to carry at it's size, and I have many a times. But I never will again.

Keltecs are often referred to as 50/50 guns. 50% of the time you get a good one. 50% of the time you don't. If my life ever depends on it, I don't want the chance like that. Even though my FTE and FTF were few and far between with the one I had, it still wasn't reliable enough for carry.

Get a Glock 26 or a Springfield XD sub compact. You can back the glock up with an extra 17 round or 33 round mag, and the XD up with a 16 round mag. Both are easy to conceal IWB, and I've even pocket carried both with a 10 round mag.

I'll glady give up a small amount of size for quality, repeatability, and performance.

I HATED my Keltec. I couldn't shoot for shit with it. The trigger was unbelievable. I sold mine too.

Im pretty sure all the instructor meant was that I know how to shoot a pistol, I was hitting the paper plate with every shot(alot of people weren't)...THATS ALL!!!!!!!, not that I could kill 5 people with 2 shots...lol get real guys...and I am in no way gods gift to shooting, i never said that....but no one had anything to say about their 14+ round clip, mag., WHATEVER PROPER JUSTIN WANTS TO CALL IT, you shoot all 14 rounds at a threat...now you hit him/her/it twice, now... where did all the other 12 rounds go...hmmm no body really knows do they? one main thing they taught in the class was KNOW WHERE THAT BULLET GOES....as who ever stated "carry what you know and what you feel comfortable with" is exactelly correct..., I'm not gonna get into a sissy girl bitch fest with you guys about this...so I guess go ahead and disect this post too...lmao

and by the way thank you Cory for being able to understand.

now what would happen if you or I did that and killed a little girl 25,50, even 75 yards away....seriously Justin?...come on man I did not say I could do better, nor did I say I train in some serious combat shit....My instructor and the cop said to know where that bullet goes once it leaves your chamber..

thanks a ton for the info guys, the only problem is that you sound like the arguments ive been having with myself, either a great idea or the worst. It was between glock 26, keltec, and kahr m9, but i guess whats bugging me is the catch that I could get 2 keltecs for the prices of either of the others, lol and with two 50% guns ones gotta work right? i set up a test shoot with the 26 and the p11 tomorrow and Ill let you know what I went with.
PS For our other arguement, I am gods gift to shooting and my carry gun now is a 14 +1 full sized .45 because all my training really did was assure me that when it hits the fan bigger and more is always better.
