Man - they really beat the shit outta these cars. I can't count how many times they "tested" the rev limiters in either car! :rocketwho

What a terrible match up
Both 500+hp rear wheel drive cars, both fall in the $75k~100k vehicle segment, both have a cult-like performance oriented following.....It may not be the match up you'd like to see (or the outcome), but it's a fair match IMO.

Regardless, the reason I posted the video was to :shake: at the abuse both take in the filming of the comparison. No car should be subject to that - especially when it belongs to someone else.

actually its the Drivers.

ken got his C5 ZO6 in the 11's and the car was bone stock.
I think he was referring to the Mustang's tires. Had they been upgraded to something sticky, the 1/4 mi. and 0-60 times would have been much improved. However, I still don't think they'd be able to match the Z06's times given the Mustang is at a disadvantage in the HP:weight ratio along with aerodynamics.

Yep I doubt the mustang could keep up with the vette tire for tire, more potential in the vette's mph. So quite right I was only talking about the 12.8 that it runs, it just has insufficient tire from the factory.

How'd you do Saturday?

I agree, good matchup.

Usually guys bitch because they baby cars like these, maybe these were test vehicles that are being used for their intended purpose

For the person who can write the check and want's a back seat, sounds like the KR is a nice ride :D

Pretty sweet testing. It is Fords only competetion for the vette in that price range. But Chevy has is right with the c6 vettes. Light as hell, aerodynamic, and big power to back it up. The stang is much bulkier and heavy, but still a badass ride. Put a sticky tire on the KR and it should do 11's with a 114mph trap speed

Well, they couldve gotten the same performance out of the plain GT500 for $35K less.

Maybe they shouldve tested on how fast you could goto the track with your 2 friends, because youd have to take 2 trips with a Z06.

You shouldnt compare cars that weigh 800 lbs difference...of course it will not handle as well or accelerate as fast.

rained out, got two runs in. I was over confident in the weather, so I hadn't even made a good serious run yet. 2.20 60's testing out different launches :bondage:

PS been looking the cobalt SS on the chevy site darn you!!! :-D
