It actually ripped the valve right through the keepers.:sad:

That sucks! Atleast it happened at the end of the yr.!
She was running good that day! or i should just say everyones cars seemed to run the best that day.
 
If you get a chance snap off a photo of the valve seats and I will send it to the valvetrain guy i work with. I'd bet however that you had spring bounce. Thats the only way I ever see that happen. Valve closes and the spring bounces under the retianer allowing the locks to slide up and out.

just took the head off... the valve just barely touched the piston and obviously the valve is bent, blackstang should be putting some pics up later, i think i got pretty lucky
 
it's fixed now, just took it for a lil ride and everything is good, :rockwoot: .....big thanks to blackstang for letting me use his garage and gregs cylinder heads for being fast and pretty cheap
 
You better be over here tomorrow with a rag and wax cleaning my car up. LOL glad to hear it worked.:rockwoot: Casper better watch out the season isnt over yet.
