Grand Marquis ABS TC Module Question

I have a 2005 Grand Marquis and my ABS and Traction Control lights are on so I took it over to Village Ford and they tell me I need an ABS Control module and quoted me 750 for the part and 4 hours labor - 1246 in total. I declined.

I did a little work and found the part for 300 and it looks easy to replace. Anyone ever done this? Looks like it is a common issue on these cars.

Thanks,

I have to do the same job. It is fairly simple and the part can be found right under the air box I believe. I think there is a place you can send them to be rebuilt for like a 100 bucks.

Thanks - that is what I understand as well. I cannot believe Village Ford would quote 4 hours for this job. I work for Ford and we wonder why we cannot get people out of warranty to use the dealer.....

4 Hours is low brakes need to be bleed several times and that requires a scan tool. Bleeding them takes a good hour with a helper , 4 hours also assumes no lines twist and break off
