I'm looking to take the girl, dog, and rv and get away for the holiday weekend. has anyone had any good experiences with camp grounds around here (1-2hour-ish). Ive been to a few but they seem to be right on top of one another (sites)...i'd like some space...full hook ups...30-50 a night.

thanks.

An hour away?! That's like nothing.... Head up north some place...

Shit, if you want to drive an hour... come park it in Waterford... I'm on the damn lake lol..

Good luck trying to find a campsite anywhere worth going this close to the holiday weekend!

You can look up all the state parks on the dnr website, but I can almost guarantee you that all the good ones are full and have been full for weeks. You can always hope for a cancellation but otherwise a private campground might be your best bet. There is one west of PH on I-69 that I remember was kind of nice, but I can't remember the name sorry.

Brighton has a campground I have stayed at a few times.....I think its called Brighton state park and the lake is called Bishop Lake. I know they have electric hook up...I never got a full water hook up but they have water fill stations where you can get water and they have clean clean shower facilities where you can use the restroom and take showers ....Thats all included in the price. I think its like $24-$28 a night...I'm not sure. Plus you'll have to buy a park pass which is like $24 but its good for the year.
