Good Paint/Body Shop in the RO area?

Next door neighbor's son-in-law just backed into my Tahoe. Left rear door has a good crease & I'm hoping they'll just replace the entire door. *grrrr*
The one week the city is replacing sidewalk slabs and I can't park in the driveway --- figures.

Any recommendations on a body/paint collision shop in the Royal Oak or Troy area? Not worried about cost - want someone that will do it right.

Thanks.

I know a great place and you won't find better but it is in Clarkston, right off 75 at exit 93....Premium Truck and Auto Body

grr

Thanks guys. Sounds like the AAA assessor is going to look at it Monday or Tuesday, and I'm not sure how the process works after that. e.g. do they just cut me a check for the estimated repair costs? Or do I get to pick the shop and insurance covers the full repair bill? Also assuming/hoping that my deductible is waived since it was parked. ugh.

More to come.

You can drop your car at the body shop and the adjuster will go there to confirm the estimate. Most adjusters have good relationships with quality bodyshops and will take care of everything right away...

Just my .02....grr

Interesting, I need to have the wives bumper redone after this winter. Need to find a place and I live in clarkston.

When I called AAA 20 mins after the incident, they wanted me to pick a shop while on the phone with them for the inspection. Having no forethought, I just had them use a Cadillac dealer at the Troy motor mall. This is where I'm unsure if AAA's estimate is what is, regardless of where I take it for repair? Or does the shop that will be doing the repair negotiate with AAA?

Would you guys prefer to use a GM dealer body shop, or an aftermarket place such as those listed above for your vehicle? I know the dealer will likely be more expensive. But I'm not a sure on who would do a better job, cost aside?

You 100% do not have to take it to one of their preferred shops. I promise u that. They tried the same thing with me and I did not. Just find the place you want to and they will send an adjuster to them. The reason they try to push u to take it to a preferred shop is bc those have sold themselves out to get that free recommendation from aaa. They agree to do the work cheap for aaa and do so by cutting corners. Trust me. They will push really hard but tell them "no, I have a body shop I am comfortable with and that's where I'm taking it".

I'll second Autometric Collision. I used to restore the owners personal collection and worked for a year as an assistant manager. They are all about quality. I'm sure there are plenty of other great shops out there too, but I had personal experience with that one. Good luck.
