we need to replace out kitchen faucet, it have (half way) taken a crap and is going to need to be replaced soon. we're looking for a single handle faucet with a drop down (or pull out, but DD preferred) head. stainless would be preferred but chrome will work as well. trying not to spend over $100. Are there any brands that i should stay away from? or any that i should look for?

as of right now we're looking at this American Standard one my wife found. http://www.amazon.com/American-Stan...3353&sr=1-7&keywords=kitchen+faucet+pull+down

Check with home depot but i believe all the faucets are lifetime guarantee.. I've had one that took a crap on me and the manufacturer sent me springs and seals for free.

Mr. chunkybs, it looks like you've picked out a pretty good over-all
replacement unit. I would check the warranty & then see if I could
buy that same exact faucet locally (price matched).

Think of all that money you're saving doing this gig yourself!

+1 to all of you.

thanks for the advice guys, we'll go to Home Depot tonight and see if we can get that one through them. and for sure check on warranty for it so that i'm covered next time this happens. it was a pain in the ass doing it all, especially because it started working so i put it all back then it quit again.... but at least i'm getting fast at swapping them and i now know how to service a faucet. gotta learn sooner or later. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!

Got one! wife is happy, and I only spent $102. It's a Glacier Bay, reviews online were good and it's got a warranty, but hopefully it won't need to be used lol

Of course when I got home and threw is in I realized it's got it's own lines, where the old one had copper pipes sticking out with a separate line I between the faucet and water lines. The lines on the sink are 2" too short so I'll have to get a couple pieces of line to connect them.

I can't help but laugh at how tall it is, it's like the lockness monster is doing my dishes.

Looks very nice!

The height will come in very handy,
when you try to wash those large pots & pans.

True...but prepare for a backsplash now....taller faucets are nice but make a mess with water splashing all over.

Good job. Looks great.
