Glad that you had a good time Dave (even if you did have to get up early to drive out there.) ;)

Nice pictures, no fbodys?

There were two 3rd gens. A red IROC and a blue T/A. The guy in the T/A had charging issues until he went out and bought a new alternator halfway through the day.

I don't think Ken's data aq system was working. I'm not sure about DBK's. I don't think anyone else was taking times. I could check my datalogs and try to figure it out... maybe later.

I had my PerformanceBox out for the first time. I had a best lap of 1:36.6. Interestingly it was on my second outing of the day! Times slipped off from there until my 7th and 8th outing where the times started coming back in check. I've spent half of the day today messing with the software that came with it, you can really get down to some serious self analysis if you wanted! You can also output the data to Google Earth and show your laps on the map!

Brian

Sweet. I've been trying to figure out laptimes based on speed and time from my HPTuners logs but it's tough to correlate the Excel sheet to the track since I hit the same speeds (95-100) at multiple places on the track.

Ken just doesn't want anyone to know how slow he was :)........

1:36.6 is "moving". Nice job.

My Gingerman definitions are: anything in the High 30s is "doing well", Mid 30s "moving" and low 30s is "flying"....high 20s and you are my hero.

I have about 10K miles around Gingerman over the last 10 years and fit in the "flying" category in the EVO....have yet to see "hero"

We have 50 acres about 4 miles from the track that someday a nice track house and garage will be sitting on.

Matt

Actually, his data aq was working. he was just brain cramping on the setup! We put a stop watch on him during one run and he was around 35 and some change. Very respectable considering his brakes weren't working most of the day!!:bowrofl:

There was a corvette there doing some tire testing and scrubbing, said he's been in the 27's! He definitely left me behind!

Cool....yes, Ken is a good driver (don't tell him he will have trouble putting the helmet on over the big head and I heard he already wheres a XXL :) )

We seem to run similar times at the 2 tracks we have both run at. I think that also might have been his first time at Gingerman? I would bet he could be deeper in the 30s with some more laps there.

What Vette was running 27s...the T1 car.....? That makes me what a new C6 Z06 even more.

Matt

I believe the current T1 record at Gingerman is a 1:27.6 by a C6 back in April of this year, Lance Knupp (sp)

Matt

The T1 C6 was John Buttermore. He was doing tire testing.

Lance has a C5 Z06 T1 car. In fact, it's for sale after the Runoffs.

If Brian brings the videos to work tomorrow, I should be able to figure out some laptimes from that. He set it up on a tripod at turn 11 for a few sessions towards the end of the day so hopefully it captured some good stuff.

Do you know what kind of lap times anyone was turning?

Matt

The John had claimed they set the T-1 track record earlier this year with a 1:27.xxx.

He was quick, I was riding with Brian and after one lap I'm like where did that T-1 car go(we pitted out one car behind him), Brian's like I think he pulled off, next lap around (lap 2) we're going down the straight between 10 and 11 and the T-1 car was already heading up into 3 :eek5: I think Brian was running 1:39s at the time.

My best lap was a 133.9ish, with two people in the car running 60 heat cycle Nittos up front and 30 heat cycles Hoosier A6's with cords showing in the rear:faint:. I was trying to feel out my new set up for nationals, I have a lot of work to do, I hear the top TTA guys are having their cars completely refreshed by Danny Popp as we speak. I need to gain a second and a half at M-O. I'm betting the winning TTA time will be a 1:34.xxx I had a 1:36.3xxx

I really need to step up my game come next week, I'll be giving up some tire since I'll be running 275s square so I can try and collect some $$$ from Hankook.

Based on a quick look at the video last night, I was running around 1:42-1:43 in traffic. I'm sure I could get it under 1:39.9 but I was trying to take it easy on the car. I have some changes planned for this winter that should take at least a few seconds off.
