Just trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my vehicle situation, And elimanating some of the projects I need to do, So heres what I've got.
1996 excab shortbed 4wd
Just under 180k Miles
Manual windows, manual locks
Does have ac- Blows cold
60/40 split bench
newer gm theft lock cd player
4wd engages and disengages just as it should
tinted front windows, hids, 17" avalanche wheels with 295/75/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers not great but have some life left in them.
The bad
Motor (305 vortec) has had a pretty good cold start knock for over a year, I have driven it like this for nearly 15k miles with no problem even towed some cars around town, I have a new longblock for the truck it is a 350 vortec motor that supposivly only has 75k miles on it but I cannot confirm that. This will be included with the truck.
Power steering leak from the pressure line to the rack.
Alignment is off, has a pull to the right, And could use a front brake job.
Body wise the truck is definitly not perfect, I put new cab corners in the truck over a year ago but never got around to painting them, they are still in primer. Typical rust on bed bedsides and door bottoms, pasenger fender is dented up and is junk.
The truck is no show peice but even with the 305 the truck has done everything I have ever asked it to do in the last 3 years I have driven it. Towed my boat great. have towed many a car even down to Milan and back. Would make a great work truck or even a great all around truck with a little bit of tlc.
I would be looking for around $2000 for the truck but would also accept partial trade's for s-10's or other gm vehicles running and driving or even light body work projects, Not looking to be doing any real mechanical wrenching tho.
