GEAR ratio help

i dont trust using calculators,im sure theres more to it-to be accurate,motor is a pontiac 400,it will prob have a peak hp/tq between 34-4300 and fall hard, WITH A MAX RPM of 5400,(anything over 5000 is prob a waste!)TH 350 2500 stall, tire can be 30" i think?(79 camaro)what gear ratio will give me the best results??
 
prob 350 hp 425 tq,--weight ? im strippin it ? (i think there around 3600 factory),HEAVY! but like i said im stripin EVERYTHING i can out/ this car has yet to be fully assem, no trap

jq,contemplateing the conversion,i eat a loooot of fries! itl b like puttin money IN my pocket.
