I am debating on selling my car. I have gone back and forth about this about a million times and the other night an idea for a car hit me. so im thinking about seriously selling mine to build it. people who know me on here will probably think im bs'ing since everyone knows i would never sell it. but please dont make fun.

1999 Camaro SS

53,000 miles.
nice black paint (8/10)
gray (charcoal?) leather interior, in GREAT shape, no rips or tears, no creases.
T tops.
6 speed car

ENGINE:
This engine was just put together last summer, it is a stock bottom end ls1 with a new crank and rods. it is all fresh with all new bearings and new piston rings. it has arp rob bolts. and all new hardware throughout. most of the sensors are new as well. it is the origional engine that came in the car.

this engine and clutch have less than 500 miles on them.

it has a custom ground cam, not huge, but makes good power under the curve. all the usuall supporting mods, hardened pushrods, PRC dual valve springs etc...
texas speed ported ls6 oil pump.
ls2 billet double timing chain.
precision racing components 5.3 litre heads with lots of port work done by the guys at texas speed. (these heads flow pretty damn well)
ls6 intake
ls7 lifters
pacesetter headers
SPEC stage 3+ (full disc style) clutch and spec flywheel.
it has custom exhaust with magnaflow cats, and magnaflow mufflers. it also has polished magnaflow tips on it. the exhaust was built by STENOD performance.
the rear end has a brand new motive 410 gear in it. it also has less than 500 miles on it.

i have 3 sets of wheels for this car. chrome ss 10 spokes, the factory wheels that are currently on it, and a set of pro stars.

i also have bmr lower control arms, with relocation brackets, a bmr track pack body mount tq arm, and bmr weld in sub frame connectors,

all suspension parts are BRAND NEW IN BOX. never been mounted.

and i have a brand new in the box set of extra valve springs. the same ones that are on the heads now, they are $290 new. BUT those may be sold to a friend of mine/member on here.

i own every stock piece that came off of this car, and i also have a receipt for every mod and part that i have done to it. all in a binder in order.

i also have the window sticker, and build sheet for this car.

i have many friends here on motown that will vouch for me that you will not see a car that is cleaner underneath than this car. it is unreal how clean it is. not a spot or spec or even a hint of any rust. no dirt, grime, or anything of the sort underneath.

the bad. the trans is currently out of the car, it is broken. i was talking to detroit gearbox about fixing it, but have kind of fallen out of touch. i am thinking about doing it myself.

THE QUESTION: i know its against the rules, but i dont know what to ask for this car..i was kind of hoping people would pop in and tell me what they think it might be worth. this car is in EXCELLENT condition.

i will post just a few pics. and im going to cover my ass and say right now that i might COMPLETELY change my mind and not sell it. because it will be very very hard for me to do.

on to the pics.

and a video of the car idling..the car is DIRTY in the video. and its open headers because i took the exhaust off. with the exhaust on its very very docile and quiet til you put your foot in it. which is what i wanted.

so! with a new good fresh trans what do you think its worth? and maybe with the trans out and broke? ANY input is helpful. thank you.

As it sits currently, I would say 8k.

Are you serious?!?!?!?!

First of all I don't imagine that he plans on trying to sell it not running and driving, I'm sure it will be complete and proper before it sells. And 8k??? Look at ls1 cars and see what you can find for 8k with 53,000 miles on it.... NOTHING.. Maybe a roller.

it will be sold running and driving. the reason i asked what it was worth as it sits is because when i put it for sale on other forums/autotrader/whatever else...if someone says "i plan on doing an auto swap anyway" "i want to change the clutch" "im going to yank the motor" etc and tells me not to put the trans back in they will just come get it. feel me? id like to think this car is in pretty damn good shape, and i would be able to get near top dollar for it. maybe im just thinking that because i own it. idk, thats why this thread is here. dont be scared to hurt my feelings. i really need opinions.

So what is the Gauge reading now?

interested? lmao.

its still about where it was when i posted the thread. ive had a few people try to talk me out of selling it. i wont lie when i bought it i had every intention to own it til i die. its kind of a family tradition. the 68 convertible in the pics was my moms very first car. me and pops have restored it and its not going anywhere...ever.

kinda wanted to do the same thing with my car, but only being 24, and knowing its not that rare of a car, i know i can buy another one down the road.

how about a 275thow IOU? might want to hang on to this one. (its just as good as money)

up. no one interested in a nice cruiser thats got some nuts? car sounds awesome too, like no other ls1 car ive ever heard

havent been on since my last post but im thinking. im thinking a pack of smokes half case of beer and a tuggy from a fat hoe. deal?
