Garage Heaters

Its that time of year again. I got rid of my stinkin ass old kerosene topedo heater that stunk like hell, and in the market for a clean burning odor free one.

I'm looking into the propane forced air heaters (require propane and electricity) and some wall mounted ones. I'm sure more people are familliar with the forced air, but wondering if anyone has ever used one of these, it doesn't require electricity. http://www2.northerntool.com/product/1029784_1029784.htm

Buddy has the same one with out the fan it takes forever to warm up his garage

Thats what I figured. About the same heat output but I have to imagine the forced air would be faster.

I had a fuel oil furnace in my last garage and it would cook you. My parents have a propane torpedo but it freezes our 12 gallon tank

Radiant heat is the way to go. No noise, fumes, and it's relatively efficient. The garage/shop that I'm currently building for myself has a hydronic heated floor. Has tubes in the concrete than circulate hot water from a boiler.

kerosene ones run really smell free if you run jet fuel..............

I found that out from experiance

Not sure about the propane. But I bought natural gas heater from Northern tool. Mr heater 45000 btu garage heater #173636 for $370. Its cheap and works awesome. I leave it at 50 all winter and turn it up to 60 when I work in the garage. I have a 2 1/2 car,but I can easliy see this thing heating a 3+ car garage.
