And I heard a lot of stories about the drugs though
May be i am a little too young.......

I grew up on the east side during that time. I've heard of all those guys.
I know three people who used to have planes, and would make regular Columbia to Detroit round trips. Two are in jail for life and one found god and lives a quiet life. He doesn't talk too much bout how he lost his foot crash landing in south America when the truck who's headlights were guiding him in on a dirt runway got spooked and took off.

x2. who are these guys!?

East side dope dealers.
This is mostly about the Black guys, there were a few white guys moving weight too, they aren't in here.
I happen to be white but I went to high school in Detroit these were household names to the kids in school, kids looked up to these guys like they were fucking basketball players.

I haven't seen this but do they mention anything about White Boy Rick?

a little in passing, I don't think they talked about him though.
There was another whiteboy (Charlie?) he took a brand new 86 or 87 GN and painted it Keylime Green (it actually looked good) There was a Chevy Dealer (Buick maybe? I can't remember anymore) the feds shut down near Caduix and Harper for selling all those guys cars and laundering money.

i grew up right around there. i lived right at whittier and lakepointe. 2 houses behind the fire station. i remember hearing the names but never knew really why

One thing they could have did was show these people's face
They are either in jail or dead by now
except for the ones that found Christ

worst episode of Gangland I have ever seen....total waste of time. Half the time I didnt know what the fuck, or who the fuck, they were talking about.

All and all I thought it was a good episode. It would have been nice to show the timeline where WBR came into the scene. Being that he is probably the most "famous" Detroit dealer.

Yeah there was a real hole for sure. Maserati Rick, White Boy Rick, The Curry Brothers and Demetrius Hollowell were all the same era and associates of the best friends. Weird hole in the story for sure.

This site has some good info for those that have never heard these names http://www.geocities.com/jiggs2000_us/wershe.html Its brief but accurate to what I can tell.

I just figured they didn't want to show any white boys. Arther Derrick Jr and Sr were both moving weight back then and nowhere on the program. Typically the white guy's weren't as violent as the back guys so maybe that's the reason.

I Divo them all, and this was a good episode.
Man they had showing the bombed out part of detroit down to an art.

Not my favorite episode, but hey it was a good one.

I have heard of these guys, all my life and a few the didn't mention, those guys are the stuff of legends and if they only knew, they hit the tip of the iceberg but they need to do a few more cause there not the only big times to come out of Detroit...... and yes you really can buy shirts with them on them.......

I haven't seen it yet but my dad was telling me that they didn't talk about when the Chaldeans and African American's were fighting the coke wars in the 70's...

Harry Calasha(Chaldean) was a huge drug dealer in the Detroit area for Coke in the 70's... He was so big he dealt directly with the Cartel in Columbia... Till he was beheaded and his head put in the middle of 7 mile...
