uh what chart are u reading?

worldwide_totals.php

that chart is for sales for this year so far

and last week xbox 360 sold 334k units and ps3 was 304k units world wide.

and PS3 can play 3d movies...xbox-nope!
3D games? PS3-yes.....xbox - no way!

The Xbox is still outselling the PS3, so if by standing still you mean, pulling ahead, then you are correct.

As for 3d. There's very few games in 3d, and even the few 3d tv's out there aren't in the hands of only PS3 owners. Xbox is in a partnership to have 3d as well, so again, a non issue. The fact is that the Kinect is outselling the move system and the Wii is outdated.

You do understand that 334 > 304 right? And that 44.7 > 40.9? Also last weeks numbers vs the ytd numbers also represent an increase in xbox sales when compared to ps3 sales. Sounds like 360 is just gaining on ps3. I own both, one is a glorified blu Ray player, the other gets gamed on constantly.

I refuse to wear 3D glasses over my face to watch tv therefore I don't care about any of this current 3D fad bullshit

That's pretty much the same thing Microsoft said. "we're 3d capabale and ready, the private sector just isn't there, so we're not rushing into it."

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has said that Xbox 360 is fully equipped to handle 3D games, although he again questioned the current level of consumer interest in the technology.

The Xbox director of product management said that the platform holder could embrace the technology eventually. But while rival Sony dives headfirst into the 3D revolution, Microsoft appears set to wait on the sidelines to see how it develops and consumers react to it.

"From the technical standpoint, we are fully 3D capable. We have 3D games running today… As consumer interest for 3D grows, we'll grow with it," he told G4TV at CES.

"It [3D] is the hot thing at CES and we've got 3D on the show floor, so we've checked the 3D box if that's important to people. If it becomes really important and people want to do more with it, we're absolutely happy to support it."

Greenberg added: "I think right now we're unsure what level of interest there is from consumers to really want a 3D experience in the living room. Many, many years from now when it becomes a reality, we absolutely can support it, we do support it today. If developers want to make more 3D games, they can."

Really? I set mine up in my Dads house in literally 5 minutes. Threw the Kinect sensor in front of the TV. It works mint with a lot of sunlight in the living room. Yes there is a small lag, but nothing that doesn't make it not fun to use. Unless you own one I would quit reading shit online and actually try something before you bash it. There are already 10 or so games on the shelf and a lot of them have multiple games on one disk.

Now can you play regular xbox games on this new system???

murph

Are you saying like regular Xbox 360 games with the Kinect? Yes. You cannot use the actual kinect piece for non kinect games though. Essentially its a regular xbox 360 that comes with a kinect sensor that allows you to interact on games specifically designed for kinect. If you want to play a regular game you just use the controller.

Ok that's what I was wondering. So the Kinect is just a bonus..

Basically, yes. It comes with one Kinect game and the other games offered for kinect are anywhere from $10-$25 cheaper than regular xbox 360 games. I think the Kinect is unbeatable for the price. I never thought I'd see the day my 50+ year old Dad would have a video game system in his living room and he thinks its a riot. I was over there yesterday and we boxed eachother. I beat my dads ass in his own living room with no regret. Though he was kind of pissed when I smacked the ceiling fan trying to spike in Volleyball!

Lol, my brother did this the second night he had the Kinect. He was spiking the ball in Volleyball too, and he knocked off and shattered the globe on the ceiling fan they just bought a week prior. The replay on that was hilarious, but he didn't have the internet hooked up so he couldn't upload it. He hit the thing, then his wife and her brother both jumped up off the couches in the background with the most horrific look on their faces. Shit was priceless.

I'm a PS3 guy. I've always been a playstation person, and always will be. I have the original PS3 60gig and have never had any problems with it. My kids also own a WII and there 10. Ignore all these people telling you you should buy this system because of Bla,bla, bla reason. Your wife and you need to sit down and discuss what type's of games you want him playing and the occasional one's you'll be using it for. Then look at the game line up for each system out there. Most of these guys are playing fps games that I'm not letting my 10 year olds play. The PS3 game are mostly for adults, and not many kid friendly games. The only time I play the WII is when my kids want me to play with them. There aren't any games that I would really be interested. in. The 360 in my opinion has the most variety of games for then and me. I just don't like the controller for the 360. The 360 Live is much better then PS3's online play. After looking at all of these thing, you'll know what system is best for your family and not what a bunch of opininated people tell you to do.
