Gaming systems??

I bought my Xbox a year ago and have had that thing running for 4-5 hours at a time with no problems with the red rings. However, a buddy of mine has a PS3 that just recently went to the yellow light and quit working...

I have both and I really don't play the wiim, my daughter who is almost 10 plays it though. if you are going to play it as well then I would get the ps3. there aren't a lot of mature games for the Wii.

PS3 has a free patch you can download off of the Playstation network for playing PS2 games on. I would go with the wii or xbox if I were you. Kids love that crazy shit.

Just played the kinect sports game at the best buy demo in rochester. Overall it was pretty cool. took a bit of getting the hang of it. Not sure if it was the TV, but a there was a little lag between my movement and on screen action. Given that its a store demo, i'm not going to worry about it.

Wii/PS3 is ok, but if this is for your kids, I'd get the xbox with Kinect. Then you don't have to look like a fairy dancing around your house with a pink ball on your magic wand.

My brother got the Kinect for his Xbox 360 last weekend. Honestly, the thing is quite impressive. There's still some minor discrepancies between what you do and what the game does, but overall it's 100x better than a Wii and it's quite impressive that they can do this for a relatively inexpensive home video game system. If I had to buy anything right now an Xbox 360 w/ Kinect would be the only thing I'd consider.

Same here. Sometimes my xbox runs all day for ten hours at a time. No issues yet. Thinking about getting the direct.

I have a PS3 and I'm considering picking up a 360 to play the Kinect with the kid, if that helps. I haven't played with a Move yet but I haven't heard anything really good about it.

I have all three and each has it's own place in my home. The Wii is VERY fun with multiple people; especially if you get Wii Fit. There is also the ability to download olf NES, SNES, Sega, Genesis, etc games and play them there. The Mario games are awesome and it has free online play with games like Mario Kart and GoldenEye. The PS3 is great because it doubles as a blu-ray player and they all have built in Wi-Fi (minus the original 20gb) so streaming Netflix movies is easy and high-def unlike the Wii. I have an original 60gb system so it has hardware playback of PS2 games which is also really neat but you have to drop serious coin to get an old 60gb. The Xbox has the best lineup of games and Kinect is really cool also. I've never had any trouble with my 360 and I've used it a lot and for long periods of time. That's my .02 on the issue.

Cliffnotes:
Wii = Fun for lots of people
PS3 = Great multimedia system
360 = Best game selection.

The new xbox's have built in wifi. As for problem prone, I don't see it. And for games, it released with a ton and it's not meant to be a full replacement for all games.

dancing is not a damn game its you moving around like an idiot with no point. and ready the articles it states it all of them. I can get ALOT more if you need more proof.

Have you used a Kinect more than 10 minutes in a store? The tech isn't perfect, but for 99.9999999% of users out there it's a perfectly good device that will do everything that you tell it to. How many people have UV lights spread around their house in a way that it cannot be turned off? In the 20+ hours I've played it's never had major problems or anything of the sort.

By the way, those three reviews are useless.

1 was written 6 months before the realease of Kinect after someone saw it in action for 10 minutes
2 has nothing to do with Kinect working in the house
3 State exactly what it's meant to be. A device to rival the Wii will including the 360's gamebase.

sunlight has uv rays so u cant have your blinds open or it affects the camera. They have had horrible lag issues that arent fixed. Yes i have played it and it lags worse that playing a computer game on a 56k modem. If you tall it wont pick up your movements when your playing with a smaller person.

i can keep going. Nice try microsoft another failed product that someone else already perfected.

I'm 6'3" and have absolutely no problem playing it. I've played it during the day in full sunlight with no blinds on the windows without a single problem. Again. It's not a perfect tech, but it's better than anything else out there and it's innovative.

I though the kinect was the only one that is controller free? Or does nintendo have a new wii setup that is controller free that's better?

wii's control is better because there is no lag and the move i havent tried yet. Im by far no wii fan but i do own one and its better that the kinect. Yes its innovative and is different but it isnt the best of the three. Microsoft is grabbing on straws because the ps3 is blowing past it like its standing still.
