Fundraiser for one of our founding members- Mike Fortuna, aka. Tuna

My event was canceled due to rain, which is fine by me since I can now attend this dinner.

I was having lunch with Scott Settlemire today, which I believe a lot of you know how he is but just in case you don't, he is AKA "The Fbodfather"...former Canaro and Firebird brand manager and still heavily involved with the Camaro program.

He is donating some very cool 45th Anniversary Camaro items (yes, they already have some made for the car that just got announced not long ago) that I will be bringing with me for the raffle. I will also bring some stuff from my personal collection.

On top of that, he sent notification of this fund raiser out to his personal Camaro contact list. I don't know how many it goes out to, but it is a lot...including all of the Camaro web site owners, club presidents, etc.

See you all there!

Yeah this makes me feel sick. I don't know Mike well but I have met him a few times and seems like a great guy. I will be making a donation.

Mike, I will be praying for you and your family.

I hope to see some of you guys out there today, I know Mike could use the showing of support from this place.

DId I read that right - dinner at 2pm ?
Food was available the entire night, starting at 2.

I am really resisting the urge to be a complete dick about the fact that only 8 people on this board could take a few hours out of their day to show another member some support.I know a couple people said they couldn't make it out because of prior obligations, but 8 fucking people. Guess I should have said his dog had cancer, seems to get a lot more reaction than a man with 4 kids who has stage 4 cancer and just had major surgery to avoid being paralyzed by it.

You guys missed out, I donated a lot of cool and rare Camaro stuff. I was expecting a bigger musclecar enthusiast showing. I am afraid that people won door prizes and had no idea the value of them. One die-cast car I donated had a value of $100. For all I know, it is out of the package and at the bottom of a toy box by now. ;)

Whatever, things happen. I am overall just glad that Mike looked good, smiled constantly, cracked jokes, and doesn't have a known expiration date. Yes, I can crack jokes like this as well because he was. :)

Glad I was there, everyone was nice, the food was pretty good and the beer was cold. Keep kicking ass, Mike. Happy retirement. :)

I have to say I am very disappointed to hear this! Not sure WTF is going on with this place.
