Fundraiser for one of our founding members- Mike Fortuna, aka. Tuna

Roadrage

Easily Irritated
Some of you know that Mike was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, and it seemed to have gone into remission. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned in the form of stage 4 Medullary Carcinoma.

For those that don't know Mike, he is a 36 year old father of 4, one of our founders, and a all around good guy. He has probably done more charity work on members vehicles than anyone else on Motown. He is a quiet guy, so many of you may have met him and don't have a clue who he is.

His friends and family has organized a fundraiser for Mike, if you are interested in attending the information is:

Saturday May 14, 2011 at 2:00P.M.
Am Vets Hall (Post 72) 57581 Am vets Dr, New Haven MI, 48048
$10.00 donations at the door.
We are offering spaghetti
dinner, salad, rolls and deserts.
We will be having a silent auction, 50/50, raffle tickets for a
50” T.v, a blue ray player and surround sound.

For those asking about sending a donation, they have an account set up at Bank of America. The account info is:

Bank of America

CMYZ28 can handle deposits at Bank of America. Given that this whole thing hits home to me, I'll match any donations

We need to be sure to keep the Motown Paypal seperate from any donations. Eric I know you're close to Tuna, let me know what they have set up, and if nothing we'll get the ball rolling

I will be there with a few friends. I live a few miles from there so if there is anything I can do let me know.

I will be stuck at work, but I let me know where to donate. Sorry to hear about the setback Tuna. Kick this thing's ass

That's far from my house but I am pretty sure I have met him and would be willing to make a donation to help out if there is a paypal fund or donation fund through Nick.

I don't think they have any kind of paypal set up, but I could be wrong. I will find and update the post

Thats awful. I've know Tuna since 2003/2004 when he worked on my old C5. He's a great guy & genuinely helpful.

Let us know if there is any way we can be of help.

This is horrible news. I can't make it out there, but if someone sets up an acount somewhere I will defintiely put something in it.

Props to Brandon for the match offer too!

-Geoff

They said that is all the info needed to make a deposit.

They should set up a paypal account. I likely can't make this event, but I would like to contribute. Please post up if someone sets something up.

They are going to work on getting him a paypal set up. I will let you guys know as soon as they get it done.

Couldn't we donate into the motown one and have Nick do a deposit of it all to that account?

I'll have to check my work schedule to see if I can get the day off. I think I am scheduled OT that day.

I'm so sorry to hear of this happening to Mike, he's a stand up guy. So many of the early outing's with the club you could count on seeing Tuna in the mix wither it be those runs up to Ubly, meeting up at the donut shop on Gratiot, or the spur of the moment posts that drew a lot us out to Woodward for a evening. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

gotta keep the MM one seperate from other stuff for our own tax purposes. I'm replying to a pm from mike right now, we'll get something setup with him asap.

Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers. We recently set of a paypal account the email address for that account is [email protected]. Thanks in advance for everything.
P.S
Maybe by the end of the month I will get my post count up to 50.....lol
Thanks again, Hope to see everybody soon
Mike

This sucks all over. Mike, you and I have been friends for a long time, it hurts to hear this. Best wishes!

I would be there for sure if I already have an event happening the same day:
http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6638445

But I am more than happy to take donations that day from those who are attending my thing if that is okay. I'll make up a flyer and pass them out!
