Fun Neighbor Thread

Well, I did attach the pics and the letter above is what I sent to them already. Everything was factual and he has already replied. Why shouldn't I bring up what a pain in the ass they've been for the 29 years I've lived here? I haven't been calling the city 20 times a year and they have to know what I've put up with and enough is enough. The 2 previous times I've complained went nowhere so I gave up 15 years ago...

It does need to stop at some time. I really didn't want to put the fence up, I really didn't, but THEY forced me to.....Dogs constantly getting loose, multiple kids running around in shitty, wet diapers playing in the back yard where the 4 dogs were living. The dogs were never inside and they never picked up after the dogs, so you can imagine what the toddlers feet looked like. I got tired of looking at them..

Gary

Call CPS next time... Fuck that... Kids don't need that bullshit...

Not enough room between the garage and fence. My friend was just asking me what all of the propane tanks were for. I originally thought they just stole the tanks and cart from a gas station and he said they are probably making Meth...Hmmmm, never thought of that and it is probably true...

Not fireworks either, there is a one pot version of cooking meth where you put all the ingredients in a 2-liter bottle with some Lithium (easily available in an energizer battery). It creates a bunch of pressure that you have to vent just right - not enough and it explodes. Too much and it explodes.

Yea, I started looking at the Chemistry when Breaking Bad came out.

That is my day job. Here is my badge picture.

And yea, as far as I could tell, every step of making meth ends in an explosion and/or poison gas if you do it wrong, and sometimes even if you do it right. You know how they make it from cold medicine - you have to actually boil that in KEROSENE. How do you even boil kerosene without burning your house down?

Gary

I'm on your side Gary, I just didn't want the city to think this was another
case of "warring neighbors". You most definitely have legitimate concerns
that raise to the level of "community health & welfare".

You have to do it correctly. step one; Zoning & Compliance Specialist Officer has
to have the opportunity & time to do his job. Second step if not satisfied, contact the
Mayor's Office and ask for action. Third step; attend the city council meeting & read
your statement of facts to the board and request their response.

It is a shame this wasn't addressed years ago. If you don't get satisfaction
this time around, plan to attend the next city council meeting. There is always
a designated time / opportunity for the public to speak, that would be your
time to publicly voice your concern to the board - they will act!

The question of the possibility of drug manufacturing raises a whole other
set of concerns, and yes you may want to visit your local police dept. and
have a little chat with them as well.

Those who do it correctly, normally get action. I wish you the best with this.

I got hit for blight due to having an old sink in my backyard behind my garage for a month (I was stationed in NC and moving back to MI) If that neighbor does not get hit for all of that BS Id be shocked.

Gary you're a nice guy. That neighbor is not worth the time of your kindness. Glad ya are taking action.

I've got 4 tires (rollers) in the area between my garage & my shed. No one can see it but me, and I still hate the fact that they're there. I can't imagine having crap like your neighbors Gary. Hope you get it taken care of

It looks like a nice storage area was created with the fences. It looks to be out of sight for them.

Why does it still bother you when you can't see it? In the pics anyway it just looks like unorganized junky stuff not stinky or smelly garbage.

I'll double dare you...

i second this hahahaha

Shit, whats his address lol. I have before when someone told me they'd send me a wiring harness after I bought a 5.3 from them and tried not to send it. After a couple weeks of people stopping by his shop where he parted GM trucks taking shit and me calling his phone from different numbers via calling apps all hours of the night screaming at him and hanging up, a wiring harness he ordered over the phone from a scrap yard showed up at my door :wiggle:

You guys would hate living by me. Some might call me the Fred Sanford of Chelsea.

Since you can't see it, does it really matter?

The noise and animal part is more of the problem. I would be irritated with the tires that don't have wheels on them... mosquito larvae... but the rest... it's like does it matter that a bear shits in the woods?

I was gonna say unless that guy has a big ass smoker and loves to grill out he is cooking meth.

It'd help explain the psychology mood state that character is demonstrating. Bipolar like attitude and unwilling to cooperate to clean up the blight.

I'll tell you why it bothers me. First off, it does smell. Second, it is leaning on my fence and since my fence is about a foot into my property line, some of this is on my property. The other problem is that the trash is causing my fence to lean a bit. Who pays to repair it when it falls over?

This isn't MY fault and you wouldn't want to live next door to him - It still boils done to Respect for others people property. He can do what he wants with his stuff, but not mine or other peoples property. They still light off fire crackers at all hours, throw bottles/cans/trash into my yard.......

THIS IS WHY IT STILL BOTHERS ME!

grr

Just curious, why did u leave a foot of your property on the other side of the fence? Do u maintain that part?

In some cities, you can put a fence up without neighbor approval, but it can't be on the property line, has to be 6-12" on your property, not saying thats why in this instance, with neighbor approval it can be right on the surveyed property line
