fuel pump problem

i have a mallory comp 250 fuel pump that all of a sudden just started gettin hot and poppin fuses.
i took pump apart and brushes look good and no windings burnt... but i dont know to much about
that stuff... i could post pics if that helps... pump was gettin really hot..
any help would be great...

Shaft bearings?
 
figured out why pump burned up... i ran the pump without bypass or return....didnt know.... learn something every day
