i have three lines coming from my tank on my 98 s10. a feed line, pressure return line and a vapor return line. i am running a small block with a carb and i have a bypass style fuel pressure regulator but i dont know exactly what to do with the vapor return line. if anyone you know or has come across this let me know.

just capped it off???? a rubber cap cover???? some guys have told me to put a filter on the top of it and make sure it is above the full tank fuel level

ok i have to figure out where it goes to then because i have a vacume line that comes out of the fire wall that plugs into my canister which is inside my drivers fender.

that canister inside the fender is a vacuum reservoir

the canister(charcoal canister) I am talking about should be mounted behind the gas tank, above the axle, if that has been removed, just put a fuel filter on the line and tie it up higher then the tank(needs to be open, not plugged, so the tank fills properly)

ok that is fine but this line does not go to the back of the tank it goes into the engine bay. i have three line that go into the engine bay but if that is normal then i will jus do that and make that line be higher up then the tank and put a filter on the top of it.

does it go from the tank forward, or from the canister forward?

since it should be like this, stock

pressure and return forward from the tank
vapor to the rear, to the canister
vapor purge forward from the cansiter, to the purge solenoid on the engine

on my jimmy the line comes straight from the tank to the front nothing inline with it. It does sound right that it should be open and not pluged but I didnt want to take the chance on fuel or fuel vapors being accessible by an engine fire. Idk Its been this way for 3 years with no problems.

it definetly goes from the tank forward. i dont have the tank down so i cant see exactly where it goes once it hit the tank but it does and did go into the engine bay when it was a four cylinder

really, hmmm, I just had the tank out of a 96 truck, and al the OBD2 trucks should be about the same

do you have the tank out, or is it still in place?

still in place. i didnt really want to drop it if i didnt have to. i looked tonight as well and all three lines have the yellow tags on them that say danger flammable on them.

you might not be able to tell then, heck, i couldn't even see where the vapor line was till the tank was out
