Well raced the last race of the night and I think I have a rod knock!!!!!Fucking shit:pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Well I started it Sun morning and it was making alot of ratiling noise right at sart up then about 30 sec it stoped and only could be heard when you rev it.So Im still hopefull its only in the valvetrain not in the block. But with my luck its probly in the block. It was a shity weekend Fri I was isued a ticket,Sat fucked up the motor,Sun I may have broke my foot playing softball.:faint:

That sucks... did you check the oil? Do you have a magnetic drain plug?

No I havent checked the oil yet and I dont have the mag drain plug.I havent lost oil pressure yet either.Im gonna drain the oil thru a filter when I drain it in the morn

It doesnt exactly go away in gear but you dont hear it unless you hit the gas in gear.Def sounds like its coming from the passenger top side but can be heard from the bottom

Im about to change the oil and filter through it,then start on the valve covers.Im hoping its just a valve spring or pushrod

Actually that sounds like you may have spun a main bearing, which really sucks.....

Gary

Thats what I have been told. But a buddy of mine has the same year and had almost the same problem,he had broke a valve spring and droped a valve and the piston was slaping it

If I did spin a bearing will there be debris in my oil?

Wouldn't have that problem with a Ford....

( Instead you'd just be slow! :( )

well I figured out that the inital noise when you start the car is dry start,so the oil pump is def no good weather or not that caused any further damage,I will wait till I get the oil pan off to inspect the bearings. The other noise is coming from the top rear passenger valvetrain.I hope to have the valve covers off today.

I just drained the oil,I found a spec of metal and the drain plug had metal dust stuck to it! What do ya think?
