Reason for selling: I need a more economical car for driving over 76 miles a day.
Please email or PM me with any questions or picture / video requests.
Asking $20,000 OBO.
2006 STI
Steel Grey Metallic (06 only)
68k Highway miles and climbing as I drive it daily (I drive more than 76 miles daily, I can easily prove this if need be). Previous owner used it as his daily also, I can prove this as well.
Stock clutch - this is your proof that the car has been handled and driven correctly.
Stock turbo
No maintenance needed - All up to date
Exterior:
Debadged - Done perfectly
Black wheels
Limo tinted rear windows
Tinted tails (done right, flawless and perfectly clear, I always get compliments on how nice they are)
Factory rear diffuser
Rally Armor mud flaps
I had the car professionally detailed in the fall before the snow hit. I had them use a sealer over the wax for extra winter protection.
Interior:
Fully Loaded from factory: mirror with all the features - Auto dim, garage door controls
Factory steering column boost gauge (hidden under steering wheel now)
Had a factory sub under the passenger seat, sacrificed the wiring for that to install an amp/sub in the trunk
Now has a 400 Watt Pioneer Amp / Sony woofer. Excellent sound. All wires are hidden and protected with wire loom.
I'd be willing to take $200 off the price if you don't want the amp and sub, I'll leave the wiring though.
STI titanium shift knob
3-gauge A-pillar pod: Oil pressure, Oil Temp, Boost / Vac.
Winter / summer floor mat sets.
If you would like pics of the interior let me know, it's no different than any other 06 STI interior which is why I don't have pics up.
Non-engine related upgrades:
Group N Engine mounts - NOTE: Factory 2006 STI engine mounts are horrible and were recalled
Group N Trans mount
Kartboy Short shifter w/ kartboy pivot bushing
Kartboy Front linkage bushings
Kartboy Rear stay bushing
Redline trans and rear diff oil
(with all of the above, the car shifts ultra smooth and accurately)
STI Pink springs
Relatively new all season tires, plenty of tread, they are great in any condition. Car hooks great anywhere.
Bigger, slotted brake rotors (no clue what brand, previous owner installed them)
Stainless braided brake lines.
Replaced all of the washers between the spoiler and the decklid.
Engine / Power related upgrades:
KillerB Oil pickup tube (You won't have to worry about a blown engine from the failure of the factory pickup tube, this is a major problem with all 2.5L turbo engines)
Gates Racing timing belt done at 60k miles
NGK 1-step colder plugs done at 60k miles
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. I did this right and did not use the Walbro installation kit.
K&N Short Ram intake w/ heat shield
eBay TMIC (bought it used, seller didn't know brand)
NOTE: you can see that the vacuum lines do not bolt to the intercooler. The factory bolts did not fit the new intercooler. I didn't want to re-thread the holes and risk a leak.
Samco intercooler to throttle body hose.
GP Moto EL header / up-pipe (4-2-1 opposite cylinder converging design) with new OEM gaskets.
HKS Catless bellmouth downpipe
HKS Hi-power 3" cat back
Grimmspeed 3 port EBC with all new vacuum lines.
Tune / boost info:
Very safe street tune set for 19 psi. Car has around 315 - 325 AWHP, 340 - 350 ft / lbs based on "near DynoJet" road dyno.
When the car was last tuned it hit 15 psi in first, 19 psi in second gear. This car honestly feels very similar to a 20g STI.
There has never been an access port on this car. Always open source tuned.
Other notes:
Yes I've gone WOT plenty of times, and shifted gears fast, but I ALWAYS made sure the engine oil was warm enough before doing so.
All aftermarket parts have been professionally installed by Speed Industry.
No boost leaks.
All cylinders have 150 PSI compression except for cylinder 4 at 145 psi. (as of October 2009)
Engine and trans oil were tested for metal shavings, neither had any signs of metal shavings.
I've always changed the oil and oil filter myself at 3k miles.
Car has a relatively fresh alignment, drives perfectly straight, no vibrations.
3rd gear pull:
4th gear pull, was some sort of incline in the road causing the dip in the last few RPM.
Asking $22,000. Willing to negotiate within reasonable means, low-ballers can forget about it.
