From Toledo to Tampa car hauling???

Moved to Tampa a couple months ago and left my 93 mustang roller behind in Toledo until I could figure out a way to get it down.. Well, I'm planning a trip back to Toledo next week so I figured I would check into a Uhaul trailer to bring it back down. WOW, its almost for $500 for oneway!!! Its a 17 hour drive, so it would only be a one day rental... Maybe I'm overly cheap, but was way more then what I expected..

Does anyone have any ideas?? If I had the money I would just buy a decent used trailer since I would be a third of the way there just renting the Uhaul trailer...lol

Anyone here know of anyone who transports to FL?

Thanks

Hoosier Transport in Wisconsin. Give them a ring, might be able to help you out. He hauled stuff for me on a 3 car open trailer. He is pretty reputable on Uship.com, thats where he answered my ad from. Think his name was Jonny.

If it's just a roller, get a tow dolly.

^^^ This ^^^

I bought a really nice used one off of craigslist, works great,
easier to store & you don't have to put lic. plates on it (at
least in Michigan you don't).

I bought a used Demco that cost $2,300 new. Used I paid $500!
You can buy cheapo new ones for $700 - $900. I highly recommend
you simply buy a used quality one & look for a Demco.

Back when I moved to FL it cost me right at $1000 from ryder for 24ft truck and flatbed trailer.

When I moved back to MI in the same year it was $550 for same size truck and trailer.

It would be cheaper I would guess to rent either a dolly or flatbed from FL and return to FL. Thus it would be a daily rental for IN-STATE use so they say. Just a suggestion.

UGH!!! Uhaul wont budge on the price... thats why I went Penske on the move down because I got them down $500 less then Uhaul on my move down.. Penske threw in the car trailer for $50.00 to haul my Altima down but the wont rent a trailer unless its behind one of their trucks. Guess my 93 Fobra is staying stored in Ohio til I figure something out.. Thought about a dolly but even thats $250... guess I'm too cheap/broke!!!

My used U-Haul tow dolly was $650 from one of their lots in Westland. I've had it for ten years, though right now it needs a overhaul. One plastic fender is now gone and the other is falling apart. I'd loan it to you if it was in better shape and both lights worked.

I’m not understanding the problem here. If you buy a
used car dolly like I’m suggesting, then you buy one
for $300 to $500, use it, then resell it for the same
$300 to $500 when you're done with it!

Your car gets moved to Florida & it doesn’t cost
you a dime!
