fox rear end movement???

just started. seams that if i try to accelerate hard the rear end seams to move side to side. the car has jegster control arms (upper and lower), poly mounts in the axle, stock replacement shocks and ebiach pro kit springs for the rear suspension.

upper torque box could be ripped. when i ripped mine out the rear end would move over a few inches when you accelerate.

the contrle arms and bushing where already done before. nothing changed except for the movement...

was planing on pulling the rear this weekend to do a gear. i will check that for sure. was planing on reenforceing them anyway...

Based on your vague question and replys leaving out what shape, year condition of the car and so forth...

I'm going out on a limb here and going to say whoever installed (you probably based on your answer) the control arms did not do so with them at ride height. Its take about on summer of thrashing on a car to destroy the poly bushings if you don't do this.

When the bushings take a shit the rear end will move side to side like you mentioned. not drasticlly but enough that you have to take action in moving the steering wheel to correct the cars now wanting to "drive" to one side(normally the drivers) when under power...

the car is a '87 notch back. all the suspension was replaced about a year and half ago. frame rails apper to be solid, havent had it on a lift to get all the way under it. the movent is not bad enough i have to correct it with steering. just feals as if it moveing around a bit.

still working on it. everything appers to be good. redid the control arms to check that again and does same thing. all the welds on the torque boxs look good. nothing appers to be bent or worn.

Check the link to the thread I had going earlier today. I wouldn't be shocked if you were having the same issue that I believe Dominic (LITTLEMAGS) helped me figure out today. Check this link and see if some of this sounds familiar to your situation, sounds like it to me from your description.

This seems like it would be a pretty damn common problem to me and VERY easy to overlook if you weren't looking for it specifically.

Good luck, Alex
