I think Ford could care less about the money. They just want the publicity they were counting on when the picked him to get one. If they can't get it with John Cena driving the car around, they can get it from all the press they will get by suing him.
That being said, they are legally on shaky ground. I would be shocked if this went to trial at all, and if it did, if Ford could actually win.

Ford could care less about the money, that part is correct. But they have to make the point. They're suing Cena and they just nuked another guy's order because it was being shopped. There will be others. They need to do it to prevent the next 600 cars from all being shopped and from pissing off an already extremely aggravated dealer network pissed off that they aren't the ones trawling for $1 million ADMs.
I got my car very, very early. Me, Leno and the 1st Phorm MFCEO were the first three people that don't work for Ford to get cars. The guys from Ford definitely can't sell because they'll nuke your fuckin pension or worse. At that point, with none even in existence basically, I was getting all kinds of dumb shit thrown my way. And believe me, I could use $1.5m over sticker a whole lot worse than a wrestler who gets paid $8 million a year. That's about what Cena sold the car for. But that's irrelevant. If you don't like the terms of the deal, however vague their language is from a legal enforceability standpoint, don't sign on the dotted line. I signed a notaized affidavit and an order sheet agreeing not to sell the car for a period of 24 months, therefore it doesn't matter; the car is not for sale at any price.
It will all be a moot point eventually because there's no way the cars will remain in the price stratosphere with 3+ years and 850+ units left to be produced.
