I was wondering if anybody had used a Z303 cam before? Just finished building up a 302 with 10.5 to 1 compression and Edelbrock r.p.m. heads and running a Holley 700 d.p., This is in a old Comet gasser with an automatic trans with a 2500 stall and a 4.11 gear. It seems like its working good and the car is coming around being it still breaking in but I was wondering if this cam is more going to be a anchor because it was made more for fuel injected engines or should this work out fine.

Sounds like it should run good although I think a bigger converter would help out alot. +1 for doing a falcon gasser!! My dad has one coming together. His has a 14:1 306 w/ ported canfields, solid roller, a tunnel ram, and a toploader. It should be a fun car when its done.

That car your dad is doing is going to be great. When should it be done? When he gets it together we have a group called the Great Lakes Gassers and we run exibition events and always looking for gasser style cars.

Ya it could use a larger stall for sure, we are putting a 4.62 gear in this week and see how it does.

He hasn't messed with it in a while. My brother still has to put the cage in it before we can go to town on it. Its just gonna be a little bit at a time for now. Hopefully within the next couple years it will be running atleast. My dad would probably be very interested in being part of your group. This car is gonna be built to have fun with! He did the show car thing for many years and he is ready to go back to his youth and have something to beat on LOL!

Depending on how big a tire you're running you're probably gonna run out of gear before the end of the 1/4 with that 4.62.
