Anyone know anybody that might wanna make some side money assembling a 4.6 long block, forged rods pistons teksid block and new heads. or just lend a hand for some food/beer or some cash? also anybody got the timing tool kit for the dohc?

thanks

I have done a few, I am interested in the food and beer offer or just helping you for some cash at least to cover my gas. Where are you located ? It can be assembled without the timing tools. Do you want to degree the cams as well ? Pm me if you want.

You dont need the Cam tools...

Boomer, you got the Degree wheel and solid Lifter?

yep, I prefer using the soft spring over the solid lash adjuster but to each their own I guess. I have done it both ways on the same engine and had the exact same reading.

I guess as long as the Lifter isnt Collapsed it would be fine...

You have a Stock Longblock now? what year?
I have a Built 01 Cobra Longblock I might trade + Cash...

The spring just has enough tension to hold the valve closed. It is faster with the otc spring removal tool to pop off a spring than it is to get the lash set to dead on working in the tight area of a 4 valve. I guess it is a matter of preference, as long as the end result is the same it is all good :D

Everything I hear about degreeing cams is positive. You can get like 40+ horse just from doing that.

I dunno about 40, Ive seen Like 3-7hp On NA engines and 12-15hp on FI. Maybe if the Cams were that Far off you would See 40hp though :headscrat

It was an article in one of the mags. Most of them related to the 03-04 Cobras. Some were dynoing at 335RWHP stock and others were at 380-385RWHP stock. People started wondering why and the article just said it depends on the engine team building it. Some teams are better than others.

I've always wanted to see everyone in the Cobra world post stock numbers along with the names of the dudes on the tag that built the engine to see if certain guys consistently built engines that made more power.
