so when i had my engine machine work done, i had the machine shop order a new balancer for me at the same time. I've been having poping issues in the high end with my turbo car and exhausted all points to timing. My turbo glows red at night after just 2, 30 mph roll on pulls, Fuel is 11.3 at WOT, 14.3 at idle. timing on my passenger side pointer is 10* with the spout out.
after a little research i found out that the ballancer i have is for a pre-80 351w...i have a 94 351w.
heres my thought...see if im on the right track...ill find out later....but i just don't know how the car is even running smooth at idle and mid range, but shitty at WOT only...
so pre-80 351w timing pointers were located on the drivers side top, Post 80 351w were located on the passenger side top (where mine is.)
So the timing marks on my balancer should be read from the driver side pointer of an older 351w not the passenger side pointer im using now.
this would mean im like 50-70* off because of the timing mark location difference i think? wouldn't it run like shit at idle even?
thoughts?
Edit..balancer has multiple timing location marks for different applications.
