"whats the track rental fee goin to be for paid members compared to non paying? "

were going to try and keep it free for paying members, all depends on our membership base.

"is it for bracket reacers only? "

no for anyone interested in racing.

and to nick, why was the thread locked? we are not trying to compete with motown in anyway, we are jsut spreading the word, detroitracing.com and other websites have been brought up before and there has been no shutting down of those threads. we all like motown we have no problem at all with motown. hell there is 9 members in TDRC who are members *paid members at that* of motown.

Plus nick I am the one that has tried to get MM displays for Autorama bent over backwards for you guys. I am unsure why the last thread was locked
other members have links to detroitracing.com in their sigs that is a great website. and I don't think they are trying to compete.

It's really strange how you guys are going about it?

1) Name of club is nearly the same as DetroitRacing.com?

2) Your basically promoting "how much better" your club is and all the "paid members" you have and sponsors?

3) last time I checked MM has club events at the track and local meetings, why not just attend these?

How are we saying our club is better? motown has over 9000 members It is a completely different kind of club.

Sounds like a very good club for the sport and the area. Not sure why anyone on the staff of MM would feel threatened enough to lock a thread about it.

we do attend the track events and me and carl attend most of the monthly meetings, but whats that have to do with anything?

our club is stricly based on drag racing were as motown is a more vast of everything which is great.

and yes the the name is similar to detroitracing.com but so is anything related to Detroit

I see a significant difference between the two. MM has a large number of people, a smaller percentage who routinely drag race, IMO.

Those that like to drag race, do so. Many members that like to hang out on MM have a wide variety of interests. Show cars, street cars, drag racing, road racing, you name it.

ahem...

the club promotes all forms of drag racing

including jr dragster

and

gravity dragsters !

and what am I going to do with the 55 gal drum a racing fuel that I'm going to win?

Bingo as with myself I started with a Show only car that the guys and girls of motown helped me with suggestions and answered tons of questions while I was building it! now my car is on It's 3rd engine and the latest one that is in it now was designed for drag racing.

i was wondering why you needed such a big carburator? lol

I'm a paying member of both MM and TDR and I support both groups in all their endeavors, nothing wrong with loving the smell of race gas and going fast. I don't think anyone is trying to compete with anything, just a group of friends supporting what they love to do but anywho...To each their own! I'll see you all at the TDR display next weekend!!!! Make sure to stop by and say hello:thumbsup:

I don't think going on a website to promote your car club on another clubs website is appropriate. No one is saying you can't be in both groups, but promoting it here isn't gonna fly. Saying "it's different" doesn't make it ok. Detroitracing.com is owned by Raj who in no way tries to organize another club, just a place for people to b.s. I actually was a mod on detroit racing at one time when that site was actually a car club. I would never go on there and say hey come checkout motown muscle. I locked the thread in question until the other officials and I can review and discuss it. Please do not create any other threads in the meantime.
