Does anyone know with firsthand experience if I will have issues trying to get a used auto loan on a 2013 vehicle that is for sale in ohio from a private seller? Not sure if this would be an automatic no or not?

Thanks,
Justin

Shouldn't be an issue. When I was shopping around. I had my C.U. ready to cut a check to a dealership in NJ, but I ended up finding one here locally.

Im just worried because its through a private party. I haven't reached out to my CU yet.

CU employee here. They will handle everything. It's not much different from a local sale other than the title needing to be notarized and an odometer disclosure statement being prepared by the seller.

My last car purchase was out of Kansas City and was a private seller that had a lien on the title. In order for my CU to write me a check, I had to have the seller mail me the title for the CU to put their name on. The seller was hesitant to do so, but after talking with the CU, he mailed the title directly to them. All I had to do from there was to pick up the car and transfer the title after I got the lien release from his CU.
