Football running back makes people look stupid

MCGUFFIE Is great.:_slide_: He said he is still going to michigan no matter who the new coach is. His dad is a huge michigan fan and is from the state of michigan. His mom tried to get him to go to A&M.

He's got some skills, that's for sure. But, he also had a hell of a lot of good blocking in a lot of those runs.

Hes got some open field running skills, also. Some of those plays broke down and he made something out of nothing.

We'll see how he does in college. I dare him to try the hurdle shit on a 6'7" college linebacker and not some high school kid. He sucked the time I watched him on ESPN2 a month ago. The Cypress Falls running back played a ton better.
Sounds like Michigan should find this Cypress Falls running back instead.

Fans came to Friday's nationally-televised game between Cy-Fair and Cypress Falls expecting to see a show.

Cypress Falls running back Shane Turner and wide receiver Blake Shaw made sure that fans would not leave Berry Center disappointed.

Turner recorded four touchdowns, and Shaw reeled in three touchdown receptions to lead the Golden Eagles to a wild 49-37 victory before an ESPN2 audience.

Turner scored on touchdown runs of 3, 35 and 65-yards, and a monstrous 100-yard kickoff return to open the second half. Shaw had touchdown receptions of 10, 4 and 34 yards.

Shaw's final touchdown catch put the Golden Eagles up by 19 with 33 seconds left in the third quarter, and put the game out of reach.

Cy-Fair star running back Sam McGuffie scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 8:29 left in the fourth quarter to pull the Bobcats within 12, but the Bobcats would come no closer.

It was all Turner on Friday night. He rushed for three touchdowns in the first half, but his highlight moment came on his magnificent kickoff return that upped Cypress Falls' lead to 35-23.

Cypress Falls (5-2, 3-1 District 17-5A) forced Cy-Fair to punt on the ensuing drive, and went right back to work. The Golden Eagles marched 91 yards in 13 plays, and increased their lead to 42-23 when quarterback Kolby Gray found Shaw on a 4-yard touchdown pass in the right corner of the end zone.

The Bobcats (4-3, 2-2) found some rhythm on their second drive of the second half, cutting the deficit to 42-30 when running back Wesley Cobb barreled into the end zone from 3 yards out.

But Cypress Falls refused to let up. The Golden Eagles marched at will down the field on their next drive, and moved ahead by 19 after Shaw caught a pass, shed a would-be tackler and raced up the right sideline for a 34-yard touchdown with 33 seconds left in the third quarter.

The first half was just as exciting as the second half with Cypress Falls leading 28-23 at halftime.

Cypress Falls was awarded a golden opportunity to start the game when Cy-Fair quarterback Gavin West was intercepted by Golden Eagles defensive back Tyler Pratt on the first play from scrimmage.

Pratt returned the ball 27 yards to the Cy-Fair 3. One play later, Turner sprinted into the end zone to give the Golden Eagles an early 7-0 lead.

Cy-Fair responded quickly. West led the Bobcats on a 6-play, 60-yard drive that was capped with West's 22-yard touchdown strike to tight end Colby Goodwin.

The Bobcats forced Cypress Falls to punt on the ensuing drive, and received a bit of luck after the snap sailed over the head of punter Matthew Baldwin and rolled out of the end zone for a safety that gave Cy-Fair a 9-7 lead.

After the free kick, West marched the Bobcats 61 yards in 12 plays, capping the drive with a 1-yard touchdown on a keeper to extend Cy-Fair's lead to 16-7.

Cypress Falls returned the punch. Turner broke free for a 35-yard touchdown run on the next drive to cut the deficit to two.

Cy-Fair went three-and-out on the following drive and had to punt, but quickly regained possession after defensive back Andrew Hegarty intercepted Gray on the next play.

The Bobcats took advantage of the turnover. West found John Leonhardt on a 23-yard touchdown pass to increase Cy-Fair's lead to 23-14.

However, the Bobcats would score no more that half with Cy-Falls finishing the half on a 14-0 run.

Turner broke up the middle untouched for a 69-yard touchdown run to cut the Bobcat's lead to two with 5:32 left in the second quarter.

Gray hooked up with Shaw for a 10-yard touchdown pass with 30 seconds remaining in the second quarter to give Cypress Falls a 28-23 lead.

Cy-Fair had a chance to pull within two before halftime, but kicker Chris Patrick missed wide right on a 39-yard field goal attempt as time expired.
