Kind of a cool car, it was a pre-production unit so it didn't have the Brembo brakes on it. Runs similar to the SVT Focus of old. I'm sure once the tuners get to the Eco-boost it will be a lot of fun to drive.

Looks great and I'm glad they're starting out with 5 door models. That'd be the one I'd buy. But damn, the SVT Focus was a turd. I'll have to check out the specs.

Quick research, so don't quote my numbers as 100% accurate.

'13 ST - 247hp/250tq. Curb Weight ≈ 3,200lb.
'05 SVT - 170hp/145tq. Curb Weight ≈ 2,750.

So roughly 450lbs heavier, but has 77 more horsepower and an additional 105 torque. It should be quite a bit faster than the old one. I wonder what more boost will yield? Cool stuff.

I've driven them. They move and feel much better than the SVT. They really are very nice cars. I can't wait to see what the aftermarket comes up with.

I guess I need more seat time. I didn't want to get the engineer to get in trouble for me beating on it.

they're pretty sweet, for sure. we had one here a few weeks ago, but i didn't get a chance to shoe it.......nice job by the blue oval on this one!!!...

$30k!?!?!?! Fuck that.

It's a sweet car, but not $30k sweet.

Jesus! My thoughts exactly. I figured it would be around $20k in which case this could be a future car purchase for me. I'll buy a 5.0 Mustang if I'm getting up in that price range. Actually, I probably wouldn't be spending that much on a vehicle and would get something nice that's lightly used.

Cool car either way, but if it's really $30k I hope it still does well.

Completely agree. I was thinking 22-24k loaded, at which point I would consider it as well.

You can't be serious and if you are you certainly have not priced new vehicles lately. A no option Focus SE starts at $18,300, an SEL starts at almost $21,000 and a Titanium starts at $22,300. Problem is that you can option out a Titanium to just under $30K......and the Focus ST is an all around upgrade over the Titanium (engine, trans, wheels, brakes, suspension, exterior). My statement about it being $30K is just speculation on my behalf since official pricing has yet to be released, however I'll be damned if I am not VERY close.

IMO, Ford really screwed up with the Focus pricing. It is a great car but the price puts it out of the market segment. Ever notice how many Titaniums are sitting on dealer lots?

We sell a decent amount of them.

Ford can't and won't lose money on cars anymore. They will just produce less if the market won't sustain current levels.
