flood clean up

I was just wondering how much the companies like serve pro, etc. were charging to clean up the basements after the flood. I heard anywhere from $2500.00 to $4500.00. That seems an awful lot to basically mop and sanitize an empty basement.

And the insurance companies GLADLY pay it. And remember, back ups are covered, floods are not. 98% of water in the basements backed up from the sewer.

plus, its more then just moping and sanitizing....some places need a little mold remediation done, equipment be left at different locations like fans and such, chemicals, the overhead bills.

i know we look at it like i couldn't see paying all that but the insurance to do this kind of work is very expensive due to the risk of things such as mold and injury.

i used to own a crime scene clean up company, and let me tell you, it was kind of like the insurance company would hand you a blank check and say write down any dollar amount you want here and we will pay it ( with in reason).
