Fleece jackets

So, I've been wearing a Patagonia R4 Fleece jacket for years. Had it replaced a couple times for various problems (gotta love lifetime warranty). Well I sent mine back to Patagonia a couple weeks ago for repair and UPS lost it. Patagonia will replace it BUT they don't make the R4 any longer.

So, what advice can you outdoor/hiking peeps give me to go with. If I stay with Patagonia, which I will have to do there aren't too many options. The Retro X, which I really don't like. Or the M's down sweater.

I've been looking at North Face and the Denali 2.

Any other suggestions in this price range? I don't want something too "puffy" or big. I like wearing t shirts without another layer.

Just FYI....I have a Carhart and hate it.

This. I have a Reebok fleece mid layer that has been one of the best I've owned, paid a whole $20 for it. I usually wear it as an outer layer when the temp is above 45 or so. In the biting cold and wind, I wear it under a weatherproof shell and it has been great. Last winter when we had those -20 wind chills, I felt none of it. In that weather, I usually wear an Under Armour long sleeve compression shirt as my base layer, fleece, then my weatherproof shell.

How are the Duluth products? They look like they work well. Anybody here every try anything from them?

Pretty sure you can try it and send it back if you hate it.

I am a fan. I have a few pairs of fleece lined pants, some midweight firehose flex pants, I have the fleece lined nylon pants(warm!! windproof on motorcycle also) I wear the long sleeve T shirts as a base under T shirts because I hate wearing a coat while on the job. I recieved the shoreman's fleece as a gift and I like it a lot. I always buy when they have a 30% off sale plus free shipping. It makes it a lot nicer when buying $60-90 pants.

I bought all of my groomsmen a $100 gift card and turned them all into Duluth fans too. I actually did this before I owned anything from them just because it seemed like a good gift after checking the website out.

I'll give them a shot next time I'm looking for cold weather clothes, thanks for the tip!

Well, it looks like I'll be sticking with Patagonia for now. They are going to issue me a credit for the lost coat. They sent me the return label so they get the insurance.

I went to REI today and it looks like on going to go with the down sweater. They don't make any fleece winter jackets I like any longer.

Thanks for the suggestions though!
