fitness people- who is still making progress?

Herschel Walker is another guy who wasn't a weight-lifter. thousands of pushups and situps instead (and dips and pullups).

Then you hear his diet where he eats one meal a day - a huge salad with some chicken and soup and bread (yes bread, the evil food), that's it. Plus coffee and coca-cola. And he only sleeps 4 hours a day! Some articles claim he's a vegetarian but he's said he eats chicken just no red meat (and he started a company that sells chicken)

That goes completely against what most people will tell you - eat big, lift big, eat tons of protein, get lots of sleep....

Rocky Marciano only ever ate one meal a day as well. A huge steak and potatoes.

There are so many different methods to achieve goals in fitness and it's amusing to me that so many people think there is only one way to train, one way to eat, specific weights for given heights, etc...

It's comical that even after hearing Tyson say he does not lift, and it being common knowledge in the boxing community, people are still in disbelief. Their headstrong attitude of "only one way to go" is so instilled that when they see something with their own eyes they can not accept it.

Herschel Walker is a freak of nature. 99% of everyone else could NEVER achieve what he did physically with what he worked with. IMO....imagine IF HE HAD gotten PERFECT training and PERFECT nutrition???? Now that is a question to ask!!!!!!!!!!

People are stupid and think you can magically get big or strong by eating special shakes or certain foods. Or that you can't if you don't eat/drink those things. Your workout and work ethic have more to do with it than anything.

There's some kind of story about how people that take supplements are in great shape and people who want to be like themt ake the supplements but they don't put in the rest of the work and don't follow the rest of the diet. You can't take creatine/protein shakes/no xplod and then not put the workouts in and not drink beer and eat chocolate cake all day.

Haven't been in the gym for a month or so. Been so busy with work and such....but have continued to eat better.... My blood pressure is back down to good levels! woohoo! For quite a time it was raised in to uncomfortable levels for me..... Now I am 120/70... I know, stupid to get excited about, but I am happy about it.

This is incredibly embarrassing but necessary I suppose to see exactly what I'm working with. I've always been a fat guy, and the vast majority of people I know have likely never seen me without a shirt on.
But I think that since I was over 210lbs for such a long time, people just think i'm skin and bones and question my health. I'll admit that my face is skinny. My extremities have never been blatantly fat - it's always been in my mid section.

First and last time I do this shit. I snapped this when I woke up this morning.

I took my brother out to the Sagebrush Cantina in Lake Orion for his birthday last night - I ate and drank WAY too much, and I'm paying for it today.
But that's me, 5'8", 137lbs (weighed this morning). I'm certainly not a stick, nor do I intend to be - I just want to lean out a tad more. To be honest, I'm pretty happy with where I've gotten myself thus far. And to reiterate, I don't sit on my thumbs all day. I walk at a very fast pace all over the place. My commute every week is approximately 22 miles - which is all done via walking. Then of course, wherever else I want to go is additional exercise. I also do push-ups and sit-ups everyday. I'm not looking to build lots of muscle - I just want to look a little better.

Meh, fuck it. Today.

It doesn't look like I've made a whole lot of progress. I've put on some weight though - I think it might be a little bit of muscle. Still have a ways to go.

40lbs down since the beginning of the year. Have two pairs of shorts that fit - the rest fall off my ass. Thats the worst part about losing weight - sucks having to buy more clothes! lmao.

Jan 1, 2012 I tipped the scale at 298# (6'6"), now I'm down to 256#. Emphasis is turning towards strength and body fat% instead of total weight. August body fat % was 30, now it's 22. I expect to be at or just below 19% by Jan 31. Joining a gym to learn movements and stay motivated is paying off.

Kettlebell people- what sizes and brands do you use at home? Where did you buy them?

Been working out for 1yr as of november. Have made a lot of progress and learned a lot, I intend to make much more progress this winter. Ill post results and progress.

how are you measuring BF%? neck waist ratio, skinfold, or water displacement? (thats the order of accuracy, worst to best) im 18% with the ratio BMI and about 12 with skinfold. im short and stocky so i normally get some shit for being 20 lbs over my 175lb max (USMC)

I've been back at it pretty hard for a couple of weeks, feeling an sleeping better than I ever have. Having trouble keeping my diet in check though.

Started bulking and mass training 4 weeks ago. Shooting for a lean bulk so im eating a lot but keeping the carb intake as low as I can.

Finishing my FINAL cut, haha. Probably about 2 more months. Currently eating 50 g fat, 240 g carb and 240 g protein per day. One "high" meal once per week. Currently losing ~1.5 lbs per week, give or take.

Bringing this back from the dead.

Since last post (last November) I am down roughly 50 pounds. I'll try and attach a couple of pictures to show the difference. I am aiming to lose another 20ish by the end of September.
