fitness people- who is still making progress?

Well, I guess I've hit bottom, after doing the Brooksie half-marathon this October, I have done absolutely nothing since. Gained 7 lbs back and feel like a turd.

Time to get back on the schedule:

Mon, Wed, Fri: Situps and 5k on the running machine
Tues, Thurs: Situps, weights, and 30 minutes of laps in the pool

Also, the wife just started the Sonoma diet at home, and wave 1 is supposed to drop pounds like water and kick your sugar cravings. If anyone is interested:

well, since July of 2010 I have lost a max of 40lbs. I have maintained this for at least 5 months. And yes I am going to the gym, I am not looking to be a "weight lifter", I am just toning up what I already have...

JACKO

I'm now at the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I can't effin stand it, but I just don't have any energy. The S.O. Has been bugging me to go to the doctor but I can't stand them. I have the week off work, I am going to try and go to the gym everyday this week.

Last year I joined lifetime and tried to maintain a regular workout schedule but with work and school i was busy and I was lazy. This fall I decided to go at it and work hard at it.
My workout have consisted of:

Cardio: 45min on the treadmil, pull ups, push ups, and decline situps with the medicine ball.

Lifting: 1 body group per day. This fall I was 223 lbs and im 5'9. 1 1/2 months later im down to 211lbs. Weight doesnt mean much to me right now as im putting on muscle and losing fat so im not trying to pay attention. Im going to measure my BF this week and see where I stand.

Also, ive cut out all the bullshit in my diet. No pop, redbull etc.
Breakfest: 3 eggs scrambled and outmeal
Protien shake
Lunch: Chicken breast of some sort with a salad
protien shake
Dinner: im always on the road so subway or something of that sort has been my only option.
protien shake and gym.

With the above work out and healthier diet ive already seen results in just over a month. Looking foward to spring time.

How do you guys use the treadmill day after day and not get bored? I try to find the one at the gym that faces a TV to take my mind off the boredom but those are typically the treadmills that have little glitches in them.

Lifetime has like 9 million treadmills. I also go to the ones by the Tvs and usually there is more then just the TV to look at while running lol. But I agree, it is boring as hell.

Treadmills either face a wall with a TV mounted about it, or a wall of mirrors. The mirror helps with the form. The TV is really too far about the treadmill to watch comfortably.

I just started working out last month, getting a jump on all the "new years" people. Just trying to burn as much fat as possible right now, once I hit my target weight Im going to start lifting. So far im down 12 pounds, Like to loose 15-20 more.

Anyone have advise for fat burn cardio? I have heard several opinions and such, being an ex-wrestler i just toss the sweats on and go at it while trying to eat a little better like I did for weight cuts. But if there is a more efficient way id give it a try.

Curently Im doing a mix of run/walk/bike... Usually sprints mixed with light jogging, walking up hill at a steep incline, and on the bike doing random hills. Usually do 2 of 3 a day for 45min-1 hour as thats really I the time and focus I have right now.

It does suck and I cant wait for summer to run outside, when I do the walking up hill for 30 minutes I use my flashcards and study for exams right now. It helps with the bordem.

Well i use an Eliptical or treadmill and well im not using it to stay entertained  I use if to increase heart rate. Typically I run at 8.8mph for 7 minutes then walk at 3.5mph for 3 minutes, my cardio usually lasts 30-40 minutes

Just got back into my power lifting, crazy diet, etc.. one month in, 185 lbs of vagina at about 8-10% b.f. this time next month i'll be 200lbs<<thats a lot of vagina :)

You lose the weight faster if you cut the protein shakes out.

I just cut the pop out last week (and any other drink that has calories), trying to avoid milk+cheese, substitute lattes for mochas, apples instead of candy bars, as many vegetables as possible for dinner and lunch, cutting out most bread since it's basically like eating sugar.

The hardest part is just trying not to think about food all the damn time.

If he mixes oatmeal with his protien, he can absorb more. Though the amount of protien he's taking in seems massively large.

About a month ago I started jumping rope for my cardio. For some reason, I absolutely love it! I've never done any other cardio exercise that was so much fun. I blast some good music with a fast rythm and just try to keep up. I'm only doing a couple different basic jumps for now. Basically what this guy is doing, but for 30 minutes straight (only breaks are when I get tripped up)

yeah...I have been slacking on cardio past few months...did a show last year and this year just trying to move up a weight class. Weighed in at 170 and really want to be a lightheavy (176-198)...sitting around 231-234 depending on day...but BF way higher than I like...( iam not going to guess but it is higher than I like)

I'm still at it.

I ended up at 195 lbs last April. Saw that I needed to get my upper body up to match my legs at that point so I quit being so stringent on the diet and halo-ed around 205. Decided to put more size on at that point, and went on a see-food diet. I smashed everything in my path, haha. I ended up going from 205-248 in 16 weeks.

Fast forward to now I've been cutting to see if I added some mass up top. I'm down 10.3 lbs over 6 weeks so far, so I'm right on schedule. I'm just finally starting cardio this week so I can maintain the same weight loss at the same caloric intake for a couple weeks longer before I start my first cut of calories.

that is a LOT of weight to put on...hopefully you keep some of it during your diet phase. that type of diet worked pretty good for me last year. I actually gained a lot of BF but put on some good muscle in needed spots. was WAY harder to diet but was good...
