Thanks
I have been kicking around the idea of buying a bike.
That pretty much seals it, never would have thought of biking a a core exercise, but it makes sense now.
Thanks

Today I looked in the mirror and realized, I could stand to lose a few pounds.
I'm going to make my goal weight 200 lbs. To start, I'm cutting out having the dog fetch my drinks... time to start getting up and walking to the fridge... well.... at least every other time.
Just knocked out just under 7 miles in 30 mins on the mountain bike. It was the first thing I did when I got up today. Brushed the teeth, threw on some shorts and a sweatshirt, grabbed the stop watch, and headed out. I'm going to try and make a habit of this every morning (weather permitting) from here on out.
Ummm, I don't know. I think it's a Motiv 'Smoothie', Dark Green, aluminum, Shimano 21-speed, Shock forks, blah blah blah. Nothing worth talking about.:badass: What kind of bike?

I want to get some knobby tires for it. It has street tires on it right now. For whatever reason, the paved surface tires on there make me nervous. I never get around to picking up different tires or a different seat for it. That seat is not comfy for the riding I plan on doing with it. The majority if the riding I will be doing is sit down and peddle 100% of the time riding for cardio purposes only.
Hmmm, maybe I'll pass then. Thanks for the offer.I have some knobby tires laying around but they are probably more than you want. They are VERY aggressive. So much so that I took them off because it was difficult to ride on pavement.
Maybe you're right. I have been riding this bike on and off for a year or two with no problems with the tires on there. They only make me nervous because all the bikes I have ever owned have had more aggressive tread on them than these. Even the 20" freestyle bikes I've owned had way more tread on them then these tires. Wife and daughter are going to 2 little kids' BDay parties today. Maybe I'll head off to a place that sell bike stuff and grab a more comfy seat.I'd keep street tires on it for pavement. Knobby on pavement SUCKS. You gotta get the old school springer seat. Rides like a Caddy!
Big seat = bad
You want a hard seat, not a big soft one. Point that thing down! It shouldn't be pointed up like that. Get some biking shorts with padding, and wear them under your shorts or pants. You will be much more comfortable. And unless you're 5'-6", raise the seat!
Don't go with knobbies unless you want to slow way down. Air those puppies up and go.

I need to get a new bike. I bought a cheapo $100 bike about 8 years ago, and I have ridden it ALOT.
They had a few at and below that $200.00 limit.$200 is pretty much all I want to spend. Ill have to check it out when I get back into town.
Went from 131Lbs to a high of 174ish last year, started working 90+ hours a week and just couldn't keep lifting. Sitting back down in the high 140's now. Grrr.![]()
