First time at the track with the Z06 :)

Well since I purchased this car I spent a great deal of it fixing a clutch issue. However now that it's been resolved I went to Milan.

Naturally I did not get my best 2 runs on tape which were my 2nd and 3rd passes. I didn't expect to get my best so early in the day.

Temps were between 82 - 85 deg and humidity around 54%, looks like the DA that day was 2559 if I calculated it correctly. So hopefully later in the season when it drops I can get some better traps.

Car is on street tires: Bridgestone potenza 760 sports 295/35/18 rears

Best pass:

60ft--------1.7679
330ft-------4.9589
1/8 ET------7.5152
1/8MPH-----96.30
1000 ET-----9.6811
1000MPH----113.97
1/4 ET-------11.4760
1/4MPH------125.03

The car hooked very well on the pass, thus the 1.7 60 ft. The only explanation is they just finished prepping the right lane which had been shut down. As the day went on this lane got slower and slower but my best two passes were in this lane back to back.

2nd best pass:

60ft-------1.8132
330ft------5.0830
1/8 ET-----7.6501
1/8MPH----95.97
1000 ET----9.8262
1000MPH---113.34
1/4 ET-----11.627
1/4MPH----124.26

Best trap of the day was 125.70

The others I have videos of are mainly 11.7s at around 125, the videos have the info in them.

The last video is not the fastest but the camera is zoomed and I moved the mount. In the prior vids my helmet caught the edge of the screen and caused some focus issues.

Anyways, had a great time and didn't break anything. Hopefully I can enjoy the car this summer opposed to working on it all the time now :)

I also saw 99SilverZ and had a chance to talk to him for a few minutes. His car sounded great and seemed to be running quite well. I heard there are some outside vids of my car so hopefully I'll see those later.

Good Stuff! I love in car runs. That car sounds awesome from inside. I don't know why more guys don't drag race their Corvettes.

Let me know the next time you go, hopefully to a NO ET events. I seem to get the boot with my little C5 Convertible at the regular events.

Very nice strong runs. What type of exhaust do you have, the car sound great going through the gears.

Forgot to reply to some of these, sorry guys.

Alexx: I've been to some open track days with other cars and had a blast. I autoX more than track due to the costs however I enjoy about any type of racing. I've seen your vids before, good stuff!

Sinister, I'll try to let you know. Next time I go to the track it will probably be lapeer however I hope to be at the next Motown rental. The exhaust is a B&B PRT catback, kooks 1 3/4 headers and offroad Xpipe. I like the sound of the car however it can be a lil loud at times! I'm surprised they didn't kick me out for the 11.4 pass. What is the vert running? :)

Good Luck at Lapeer, the track is horrible for a vehicle of your speed. Pretty sure you'll get the boot there. I've got my vert running pretty good thanks to Dr Phil. Last Motown 5/29/2010 Milan event, I managed to get two passes in before being asked not to make any more passes. First Pass 10.17 @ 134 mph Second pass 10.08 @ 135 mph so close to having a 9s street car. All I needed was one more pass, would of came out a little harder. Here are a few videos that someone on the board took.

I'm on street tires so I don't really expect to duplicate the 11.4 run again, nor would I expect to run better at Lapeer. The main reason for going there is so I can hangout with friends in the grid and not spend the entire day in the staging lanes not seeing each other all day. I may eventually put a set of drag radials on however with that comes the cost of a roll cage which I don't particularly want.

That C5 moves out for sure, I'm going to guess it's procharged? I had hoped to be closer to 128/129mph however that obviously didn't happen. I could probably gain 1 mph by removing my tools from the back next time out and not having 3/4 of a tank. I recently purchased the VR air duct/bridge because my car had the stock one. Hopefully that will be here soon and maybe I can pick up a few hp. Maybe with those items and cooler weather I can get closer to my trap goal but still no where near 135, that's just ridiculous! :) I'll let yo know the next time I make it out there, and let me know if you go sooner. I'd like to see the vert in action.

Sounds good Airtonics, I won't be going to Milan again till the weather cools off a bit, like to make it to the NO ET in September or October. they won't tech you for no roll bar at these events. Yes your close on the power adder, Supercharge by Paxton supplies the added power, very quite and stealth not that I'm trying to be sneaky, but it sure surprises a few cars on the road especially a few C6 Z06s .
