Finally!

Took care of a few small items today. Put in a new inertia switch and the last of the interior trim in the hatch area. I also installed the fold down seats. Not much to report but progress none the less.

Been real busy but have had some time to mess with the car. I've been chasing an electrical issue for the last couple weeks concerning the starting circuit. Basically, the car wouldn't start if you were cranking it over at the column. If you just turned the key on and jumped it at the solenoid it would fire right up. The problem was where the aftermarket harness tied into the factory wiring coming off the ignition switch. I fixed a small wiring mistake that I made in the column and now she's working great. I also went through the EFI one last time before finalizing some connections and wrapping it with tape. Just gotta take care of a few minor details tomorrow and the engine compartment wiring should be 100% done. After that it's on to finishing up the dash wiring.

The 85 has been "running" for the last couple of weeks. As in idling in the driveway. Notice I didn't say "moving/ driving". I got the electrical issue straightened out with the ignition only to find out that there was an issue with the C4 that I originally put in the car. After much debating, I ended up buying a complete low mileage/ rebuilt AOD setup. I pulled the C4 out and swapped in the AOD. After tying up a few loose ends with the trans swap I got the brakes bled. I'm very happy to say that I finally DROVE the 85 today. Made a few laps around the neighborhood. WOO- HOO!!! Still got a few details to work out but I hope to have it plated/ insured in the next couple of weeks.

Good. Its about time you get to drive something that doesnt have a 4wd option :)

Have fun with it. Im sure all the trouble was worth it now.

When do I get my ride In the 85 ?......Good to hear she Is comming together.

Got more of the wiring finished up. Just need to tuck the harnesses in and make a couple more final connections then the wiring will be 100% complete. After that I'll install some front lowering springs to get the nose down a little bit. Then it's plates/ insurance/ alignment. After that it's my new DD!!

Thanks. I've been finishing up the dash wiring. I'm putting aftermarket gauges in to replace all of the factory gauges. This is really time consuming so I'm not quite as far as I would like to be. Been spending alot of time just running wires and soldering/ heat shrinking connections. Getting there slowly but surely. Hoping to finish up the dash wiring by this weekend.
