Unfortunately we got rained pissed on us on Wednesday and early Thursday, but we still had fun at V.I.R. We had the team principal and an FIA GT1 driver from Matech Competition deliver a 2009 GT1 car to one of our guys at the track, and that was awesome. Nothing like Ford GT's, spec Miatas, and FIA GT1 cars running the track at the same time

We looked at the data from the GT1 car, and in the driving rain, with standing water on the track, Thomas Mutsch was driving the GT1 car and pulling 1.25+ g's in the corners. UNREAL. I went out in the car yesterday and it's just another level.

Watch how fast Gene Martindale is taking this (wet) straight in a stock 2011 GT500.

It's a Roush Yates 5.3L variant of the cammer (I think). It makes something like 600 crank and will last about 30 hours.

The guy driving the GT500 is the test driver that ran 2:58 in a stock 2011 GT500 for SVT. He's a nutbar.

Michelin rain race tires. I've actually seen him drive faster in the rain at the Nurburgring FIA GT1 race, but since this was a customer's car, he was going less than all out. I think this was probably 5/10ths. Dude is good.

I tried taking cell phone video from in the car but it was pretty useless.

Full, instrumented video in the wet. Thomas Mutsch has HUGE balls.
 That is awesome! Looks like they have built some more buildings since the last time I was there. That is a neat track.

I'm assuming for class rules? Seems that the stock motor w/ supercharger and a tune would make more power. In the video I didn't hear any s/c whine though.

Also, I still have those FGT glasses for you, still in the box.
