I have been honing my recording and music creation skills for a while now in the new quiet recess of my basement.

I finally managed to aquire a nice software collection a few months back and have been learning how to use it.

Mind you this is fake instruments. everything was done in the PC on my clip and the original group in the youtube video.

Alot of work went into the midifile to get it to sound authentic. I can't wait till someone comes out with a good guitar collction. Boy thats way overdue. I substituted some guitar parts for synthsizers becuase I could not get them sound good.

the song was picked becuase of the heavy use of Horns and Brass.

Definitely need to get the guitar parts worked out. The drums could be a little deeper and stronger too IMO...

can't wait to get into a new house this summer so I can build a real studio/control/theater room. Its tough mixing in a room like the one I am in now. But we decided to sit out the housing bubble so we have been renting for the last 6 years. Time to buy now.

I thought the horns sounded pretty authentic though. Which was the whole point.

Temporary solution - good headphones. ;) Love my Sonys...

I have several piars of GOOD headphones. they tend to cause issues with mixing level especially EQ on instruments. Becuase they are so close to your ears they provide a bizzare field proximity effect that makes things sound different enough that system to system translation is questionable. I have a few sets of monitors. I did fix some of the midi drum parts. I will post the amnded file tonight.
