Faceplated transmisson?

Has anyone ran them or still run them are they streetable what are the advantages and disadvantages any input would be great! Thanks.
 
ive heard of a few people running them on the street. they seem to be pretty busy with pedals while driving though. i personally have never driven one. someone put a video on another forum of how he drives it, try to search youtube. idk. just my 2 cents
 
i drove mine a ton.
On the street you double clutch or shift really fast. If you double clutch they are not an issue. You have to rev match to downshift. Also, dont shift to neutral while moving, will be a pain to get back into gear. Faceplated is better for the street than proshifted. If/when it wears you pull it apart end "re-edge" the blocks.

So do you think it is worth the hassle of learning how to drive it?
 
The only time I missed a gear while faceplated was when I was trying a pistol grip. Taner warned me not to but...
I could not find 2nd, 3rd or fourth.
At the track you just tap the clutch while Wot to shift .

They are ok to drive on the street. I've put approx. 300 or so miles on mine without any issues. That being said, I'm probably pulling mine out to just put in a sycro'd Gforce since it doesn't see the track anymore...only street driving with the kids around town or to Baker's car show.
 
I would stay Away from gforce .
I don't recall exactly how many street miles mine has, but it's probably around 6-8000.
Trans never bothered me. The spool did though
